The only time it's been driven in the rain the bed did get wet but I think most of that came through openings in the bed that will need sealing. The cover itself is pretty well gasketed. I can get some pictures of you're interested.

Might be helpful if you can.
I seen a YouTube video review of it and the guy said he thought a little bit of water was getting in at the tailgate. Maybe a seal can be added there.

Rough country II. Hard cover, very basic, very reliable. cost effective. The cover sits on the rails and not on some slimline track you need to install. I think it’s much stronger. I wouldn’t jump on it. But my kids walk and lay on it regularly. Very sturdy.

I debated diamond back but it’s too limiting for the money. Great for overlanders. Not great if you regularly need open space for large items or trips to Home Depot.

Near unanimous positive reviews and only $599.

If you look at your tailgate with it closed, from the top you'll see some spaces where moisture can get through. Some people have sealed hose and added some extra around the tailgate where no seal exists with good results.

I have a Lomax and am very happy with it - get very minimal amount of water through the tailgate gaps and even when I take it through a high pressure touchless car was or use my own power washer to clean the truck. I have a roll of seal - will probably add some to it in the coming weeks. I do worry about ensuring there is some place for water to drain.

If you want a great price check with @GotExhaust - they offer many different covers, great prices and service. And they are a TW Vendor.

@Devious6 that actually sounds good. I know nothing is going to be perfectly waterproof.
I knew about GotExaust, I think in another thread a few said the Lomax was about $675. That's more than the soft cover I was looking at but still the most affordable hard cover I've seen. It should be more secure too.
I wanted to be able to order one as soon as I get my truck. If I can get my tax returns and stimulus check next month when I expect to get at truck I'll good to get whatever I want for a cover.
