Thanks for the advice. I would like to go this route if it doesnt cost too much. I dont know what the AAL will cost in addition or which ones to buy. Or how hard it will be to put the front shocks on. I am a beginner when it comes to this stuff.

There are write ups on here for every thing. The AAL's should be about $60.00.

    don't coilspacers cause sagging?

They preload the spring. They can cause premature sagging. The 5100's pre load the spring as well, but the shock is much better suited to dampening the pre loaded spring, thus giving a better ride.

so what exactly does it mean when someone says it will cause premature sagging of the rear leaf packs? What, performance wise, does it do?

It causes the springs to sag more than normal.

So, does that cause a rougher ride? Or, does it cause the truck to sag down lower over time?

How does the everday driver / work truck ride compare with the Eibachs and 5100's at 0 or .85 in the front compared to the above options that do not have the Eibachs?

I want to keep it as close to stock ride as possible and am only looking for a slight lift (2" or less) with the front a little less raked than stock.

At this point, looking at 5100's and aal for the rear...

Any lift performed by lift springs, or spacers, increases the firmness of the suspension. The goal is to get a shock that is designed to work with the higher spring rates. OME shocks are designed to work perfectly with their springs, while the Bilstien 5100's do very well with a pre loaded spring, OME spring, or an Eibch spring.

Those are a Top Plate spacer. They wont affect the ride as much, and will stay near stock, but they will damage your ball joints, and If you go off road, you can break your shocks, much lke the pic I posted ealier.

How about this. What would give me the best ride (closest to stock) regardless of cost with only about a 1.5-2" inch lift in the front and 1-1.5" inch lift in rear?

    Cool thanks.

I know these are tough questions to aswer sometimes because everyone is looking for something different and ride 'quality' is subjective.

At my age, i like the stock ride in general, though a little less lean in the corners would be nice. I also would like to soften the rake somewhat.

The slight lift i am considering is for looks and to fit a little bit bigger tire in the wheel well with it being proportionate. Want the ride sacrifice to be minimal.

When you say "off roading" your doing some speed? Cuz my Off Roading is walking speed maybe hit 5mph. I would think that no damage would be done. LOL Yeah, I'm an old guy...:)

OME gets my vote. i went for the "cheap" lift with the toytec spacer/aal and hated how my truck drove. it was super super stiff and felt like garbage. since then i sold the spacer lift and went with ome 885's on their n140s and the alcan aal with the n182 shocks. you can get the whole lift from toytec for 699.99
imo its the best entry level suspension unless you like feeling every little bump in the road.

Most people go 1-1.5" greater lift in front than rear to level out rake. I recommend Billie 5100's all around with rear shackle (cuz that's what I did :p). It gives a ride BETTER than stock imo, though the CG is higher.
