    Thinking about some mods!
I'm looking for a bed rack that will be used for long loads (ladders, canoe, surfboard, etc.) for my 3rd gen short bed with factory trifold cover. The perfect rack would be cab height, bed rail mounted, and somehow compatible with the factory trifold tonneau cover. I bet there is a thread out there, but I couldn't find it. Any recommendations?

it's kind of utilitarian, but it checks off all the boxes. Thanks for the lead.

Our URTC will allow a cover to fold open, but being able to open the cover is highly overrated. Accessing the bed through the tailgate is pretty easy, and if you really need to open the cover, the rack is super easy to take off.

The only retractable covers it works with is the Retrax and Pace Edwards Switchblade.

I searched for a while and couldn’t find anything that fit my needs and worked with the OEM tonneau. I only needed a rack for the occasional transport of paddle boards and lumber/ladders, so I wanted something that could be removed without a ton of effort. I ended up getting a Rola T3 and had the mounting brackets drilled out to fit around the tonneau cover latch pins. I wish I could find something where I didn’t need to remove the cover, but this works for now.
