    Hi all,

I have a 2018 TRD OR 4X4 manual transmission in BBP. I am thinking of asking for a winch for Christmas but have never purchased one before. does anyone have suggestions on a Brand/Model/ along with a bumper that will fit with minimal modification to the factory look?

That’s why I didn’t recommend the VR series.

I probably should have also mentioned I’ve got a 32” light bar on the bumper inside. That won’t cause issues will it? Anyone got links to the warn and smittybilt or other suggestions?

    Work in progress...
Has anyone ever put a winch in the back and just plugged it into the outlet as needed?

What would you secure it too if you did that? Sounds practical

Carry the winch and carrier in the bed when needed and able to deploy it to the back or the front if needed. Anderson plugs in place on both ends of the truck with proper sized cabling. Front bumper is an SSO with a receiver added. Normally carries my front license plate. Didn't want to haul 80+ pounds of winch in the front all the time.

Mine is an older winch and cradle that I inherited from my Dad. I have electrical outlets front and rear and a Mobtown Offroad recovery bar for a front receiver.

Fun fact: Warn also makes jumper cables that use the same plugs so if you have to jump start someone you can do it from either the front or the rear and don't need to raise your hood.

Look at the SSO Slimline bumper to, very compact and factory looking. Hoping that’s my next purchase.

the slimline looks pretty nice. do like the idea of being able to move it from front to back. Also easy to keep the winch if the winch needs to come out
