I'm looking at buying a new 2016 Tacoma TRD OR in the next few months. Looking to get the tech package and towing. Now the question is since I refuse to buy an automatic, what is NOT included with the manual that comes with the auto. Example being no multi-terrain select or crawl control. Also read somewhere that the manual doesn't have push button start? I find that hard to believe.

I feel the same about manual transmissions. It's a priority for me to have that when I shop for a new truck. It will be a couple of more years before I pull the trigger on a new one because my 1st gen is still going strong, but when I do I'll be shopping for a V6 M/T. What bothers me about what Toyota is offering right now is that with the Off Road version you can only get a manual trans on a double cab. If you want an Access Cab with a manual trans you have to get the Sport model. I'm hoping that changes by 2018.

Yeah I also wish I could get the OR with a longbed and manual. Originally wanted an Access cab with LB. Guess it's DCSB for me.

No push button start on the m/t. No crawl control or multi-terrain select, you get A-TRAC instead. No hill start assist. I think that's it.

I thought this was a configuration? Or is that just TRD OR long bed?

I think its a safety issue, kind of like how most manufacturers don't allow remote start on a manual. If you forget to push the clutch in or take it out of gear first, it can lurch forward. But then again the same could happen with a key. Just don't listen to me, I am just confusing myself, and probably everyone else, I'm going to kill myself now, goodbye.

Correct. TRD OR Long Bed exists, but not with the manual.

I guess it can be safety but when my dad's last few manual cars had push button it kinda pisses me off. Granted the cars were eurospec

This makes no sense. I had a Mini a few years ago that was a manual and had a push button start. You just needed to press the clutch in before pushing the start button for it to start.

all you need is a clutch safety interlock. not that freaking hard to add. hell its already 1/2 there since you cant start a new vehicle that has a clutch w/o it pushed in currently. all you need now is a sensor to tell if its in gear. Toyota is just being over zealous on the liability :)
