Well I am in the market for a toyota and found one that fits my hunting and fishing needs.

It is a 1997 v6 4x4 automatic with a leer truck top and a truck vault. It is black with grey cloth interior. The truck has 153000 miles on it and needs new tires probably. The guy wants 8000 for it. I have had so many different opinions from friends given to me about the price and I am not quite sure. Honestly I really like the truck and as a single guy who only needs a truck to get to and from work and take those long trips to the trout river or duck hole this seems perfect and should be a great truck for a couple of years.

It has a lot of features on it that I have always wanted and I know this first generation of tacomas last an eternity if you treat them right.

Anyway I would love to hear yalls opinion.

    Thanks

A soon to be new owner of any tacoma

Sounds a little high on the price. I would think it would have been in the 6 to 7k range.

I wouldn't want to drive on those tires. I would offer 7 and see if he bites.

I've done a mod or two
Those tires are toast, but the truck looks nice enough. Check for frame rust, especially around the catalytic converter area and by the spring hangers in the rear. And when I say check I mean hit the frame with a hammer or something. Not ultra hard but enough to tell if it's metal or rust just barely holding together. If the frame is good then $6500 would be top dollar on that vintage.
