    Nice truck.

I'm gonna be that guy and tell you it's spelled "definitely". I scrolled through your thread and I saw it about 800 times and my grammar nazi tendencies are exploding o_O

Awesome build! If you’re a fan of Aussie built RV’s, you’ll have to check out the stuff coming from Patriot Campers. Very Pricey but cool nonetheless, they have U.S distribution and I believe a factory here now. https://www.patriotcampers.com.au/

Thanks for the link! Those are really cool! The larger one with ability to carry a SXS are awesome!

My DW has some valid concerns about it being enough space for cross country trips. She'd love a 4x4 Class C but Im not convinced we need another vehicle. We do agree our current set-up is working great so probably will re-evaluate in a couple years.

Yeah, I wouldn't be in a hurry to get out of your current setup.

Especially considering all the recent awesome mods you just did to the trailer. It’s a really awesome trailer now.

Thanks, it really is! We really just needed to take a breather after the expo lol, so much awesomness there! "let's do that, and that, and that and that....."
I still think I'd like to build a small RTT trailer for quick overnight trips but need to get moving on the 50 other projects I'm currently working on. It'd be so easy though, used single jet ski trailer+timbrens+storage boxes+RTT= EAF!:pout:

So I just stopped by a local dealer and asked for some of that fancy transfer case oil and the parts guy looked at me like I was nuts and told me it was just regular gear oil that I could pick up at Orielly. I called another nearby dealer and they told me they used the Toyota 75w85 diff oil for transfer case fluid changes. Neither dealer had any in stock.

Soooo I did a little research and sounds like most people are using one of these two products for the 3rd gen T case.

It must have been the warm dry air that made us so thirsty! I put myself on beer sabbatical for a few weeks after the last couple trips.

I upgraded my front body mount bushings this morning for some energy suspension polyurethane. I've had a couple of strange vibration noises coming from the front. One was definitely :luvya: the flimsy bent up oem skid plate vibrating on the crossmember. The other noise was a sudden harsh friction noise when I would hit speed bumps or large potholes.

A little investigating and turns out my front body mount were shot so it was metal on metal up there.

SO HAPPY to report my front end makes no more noise!!! Best $20 dollar upgrade hands down!

It's really not too bad. It took me less than an hour for both sides. My only hiccup was 1 broken fender liner clip but luckily I had spares from when I did the snorkel.
    Here's a good write up
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...at-noise-may-not-be-your-leaf-springs.464993/
It's definitely worth the effort if your having any strange noises you can't pin down.

BTW mine were that bad with only 30k on the clock.

    Maintenance Journal Entry:
Did the 30k mile service today.

Changed the oil with RP 0W-20 and new OEM oil filter. Now that Toyota care is over I'll be following the extreme duty schedule of Q 5k miles as long as I'm towing the camper frequently.

Changed both diff oils with RP 75w-90. Fluid looked great with minimal fragments on the magnets. I didn't need to since it was recently done post 4.88s but I wanted to get them on the regular maintenance schedule.

Changed the transfer case oil with RP synchromax. Oil drained appeared to be in like new condition. Q 30k may be overkill.

Inspected ATF oil. ATF looked great and appeared to be in good condition. No top off necessary. Will strongly consider a prevntative trans flush @ 60k under Toyota extreme duty recommendations.

Greased and re-torqued suspension, steering and drive line components. I was considering upgrading to full leaf pack but its riding nice and not making any noise so leaving it alone. Also took a video of the leafs when putting the truck in gear and there does not appear to be axle wrap.

Brakes looked pretty good. All the springs, pads and wheel cylinders appear to be normal. The front rotors did have some glazing. Might consider swapping Hawk heavy duty pads to the front and turning the rotors before our annual fall trip.

New wix air filter because I'm lazy and don't want to clean and oil the AFe one. No dead bees in the Airbox since putting on the syklone precleaner:thumbsup:

    *Rock shield PSA*

    DON'T DO IT!

I waxed my truck this morning and noticed I had a couple small rock chips on the hood. No big deal but realised the rock deflector was pointless so I took it off. The rock shield had pushed down the weather strip between the grill and Hood so it's no longer a perfect seal. I went over to the dealer and found out the only way to get that weather strip is to buy an entire grill assembly:eek:. Hopefully it returns to its normal shape lol.
