Loss of power...engine stalls....help me

    Not 100% sure on that one. Lots of things can cause "tip-in" lag. When I get time later I will do some more digging during the week.

    Was there a final answer, cause, bad part, cracked line, etc? My 1999 prerunner is having the exact same issues and I'm trying to figure it out.

    Chances are its the fuel pump if your symptoms are similar to his. Especially if at start up if you press the gas and it hesitates then suddenly bucks forward. Surging in general is a good sign on a bad pump/filter.

    Ended up happening to one of my v6 4runners as well, though it more so up and died suddenly during a long trip. And on my 2.4 taco the symptoms were similar also though mainly was very weak in general - I didn't get to much popping/backfiring.

    If you have more details we can try to diagnose further as something may be specific to you that may be bring to light a whole nother issue or something along with the pump. Also if your changing the pump you might as well do the filter to.
