I went to eBay and found small circular aluminum custom made pet tags. I had them engrave my first name and my cell number on the tag. Attach to Taco key ring and hopefully, someone will call your cell if ever found. Won't help FIND your keys though, someone else has to do that for you.

Your local pet store like Petsmart etc. has tag engraving onsite also. YMMV.

EXAMPLE and no, I'm not the seller! ----> https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stainless-...h=item2a65cf9c61:g:DJAAAOSwdSRaFg7y:rk:6:pf:0

this was done with 3rd party remote starts before the "H" key encryption was cracked.

in a nutshell you would wrap the oem key with a wire and tie that into the ignition light ring circuit to fake a "H" key to fool the ecu in thinking a valid key was in the ignition.

you might want to ask a remote start dealer that does this if they can do this with yours.

You can order blank ones for cheap online and have them programmed at a locksmith on the cheap. As far as losing keys and ways not to forget them. Familiarity is key, put them on something bright and also place them in/on the same spot after you use them. Like a bright ass green bowl on a side table you always see. Outside of home, same thing. Put them in same spot, repetition and doing it over and over helps, especially with a TBI. Put post it notes on the fridge or someplace you'll see it, mirror etc saying like keys are in your pocket, bowl, etc. Even put one in the truck on the dash that says where you're going to put them. I work in medicine and these are things that have worked for people. Hope some of the suggestions help you.

Thanks just checked online. $50 for the key and called a locksmith they quoted $75 to cut and programme. Much cheaper than the dealer.

My lost key I’m sure it’s at my office, I had it there and packed up and moved a lot of boxes, so I’ll find it one day.

Just want to have a cheap spare

Tractor Supply near me makes them.....haven't done the Tacoma, but 2 Ford Rangers, a Wrangler, and a Tundra - all chip keys less than $100.

For those of you looking for a spare key - I got this one for my 2017 push-button start: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-2016-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

$100/key. Then I found a local guy on Craigslist who programmed it for me for $80.
    Works like a charm!
Added bonus - comes with a free key tag - if you lose your keys, whoever finds them simply drops them in any mailbox for them to be sent to the eBay seller's office. From there they will look up your information and forward keys to you.
