Unless that vtwin is an rc51 or rc211v. I'd rock those.

so a friend at work who is really into ham radios came to me with gifts:)

showed up with brand new antennas for cb`s! i got to pick which ones... im gonna start with a 36 inch and see how i like it.... it ends up at almost exactly the top of the snorkel.... if i need bigger, he has a 48 inch but its red..... not black and white lol. made my own tab and welded it to the bumper. im really liking how it also serves as a depth gauge when in the driver`s seat. can't wait to test it out.... its gotta be better than my foot and half tall magnetic:D

I think I would have done it to the back side of the tube incase you do hit something you don't snap the tab off.

Now you got me thinking. I have a 4' firestick in the garage. It might have to find it's way onto my ARB. :D

Looking good, dude. Just curious, though, any particular reason you put the antennae tab on the front of the tube instead of the back where it'd be more protected?

Where it is now, I envision breakage.

My bumper from a trail I ran just yesterday.....

just tested it today near work. i got about a mile maybe mile and a half away in town and still had good comms, i think itll work just fine in moab:)

my brother got them for me, ebay i think if i remember. then i modified the corners for my bigger dual element bulbs and installed rfs hid kit:)

it would have brought the antenna to close for comfort to my new headlights and corners.... i have yet to hit that part of my bumper on a trail.... if i do end up hitting it, ill cross that bridge and move it. as of right now, itll work just fine. its not the first thing that would hit a wall and its not the widest part either.

Jace I have been reading more on CB's and tuning them with an SWR meter. I am gonna try to pick one up and tune my new antenna set up I do this weekend. If you high readings from an untuned antenna it can result in heat build up and burn up your radio. I also learned how you tune an antenna like yours with no adjustable tip. We should tune yours as well.
