Center consoles can hide these things. Just saying. :D

ATO makes some for 2nd gens that aren't too pricey. If I can make them to where it is easy to switch back and forth I will probably get them.

Problem I see is the window controls on the driver's side for the rear windows. You would loose control or have to move the switches. And then there are the speaker connections. I love my tunes too much.

I never listen to music while I'm Wheeling, I don't know why, I just don't. And they make them for the front and rear doors. I would probably just get all four.

this^ was in prep for these v:D Trail Gear tube doors. they come as a bolt on kit. I didnt like that, so i made them quickdisconnect!

went to a local toyota junk yard. picked up 4 hinges. i ground out the pin on all the hinges. the male ends go on the doors, the factory female ends stay on the truck. So the tube doors and the regular doors have their own set of hinges bolted on. I found some grade 8 bolts with flanks on them that was the perfect diameter for the hinge pins. i cut off the threaded part of the bolts and drilled holes for small clevis pins to go through.

had to shim the doors and tube doors a very small amount on the hinges for proper fitment, but both sets of doors fit perfectly and can be swapped out with minimal tools in about 15 minutes! quick disconnet taco doors:cool:

the TG doors came very low as you can see in the picture. In conjunction with my subaru seats sitting higher than factory, i saw a problem. I could easily of slid out of the seat over the door.

So i made arm rests. they raise 5.5 inches off the doors and angle in towards the truck about flush with the weather strips. came out great, lots more safe and the arm rest is awesome!

primed and painted doors and hinges flat black like the rest of the armor.... i plan to wrap the arm rest in something like trampoline foam? like rollcages are sometimes wrapped in for safety. I also plan to make plugs for the electrical holes in the body. And im gonna look into wrapping the bottom of the doors in canvas to match the softtopper.
but after a shit ton of work, i now have quick disconnect tube doors for those nice days in the mtns!
