    I feel like my truck would do well if you could spend an hour looking at everything underneath to see what I need to do for upkeep. Since this is my first 4x4 that I actually wheel, I am not sure what to keep an eye on.

    So Mr. Toyota Tech, I went to Toyota today and they didn't have the contact I needed. Since it looked like my plunger was hitting the right side of my contact I picked up the right offset contact to and hoped for the best. I cleaned everything and put it all back together and got nothing, not even a click. I pulled it back off and hooked it up again to see if it would turn over by itself and this time I got a small click (not as loud as with the bad contact) and the brake light would come on and off as I turned the key. Any ideas?

    I think I'm going to put the bad contact back in and see if it turns over then. If so, it means the other right offset contact wont work.

    yeah you gotta have the right ones..... the whole brake light thing, i have no idea what you did? did you disconnect the battery before taking the starter out? did the wire short out on the frame or motor And blow a fuse?

    Yeah I found a few things I put back together in the wrong order on the posts and the alt relay was loose but I still had issues getting a response form the starter. I ended up getting mad at it and turning the key like 15 times really fast and it magically turned over. Now it fires right up everytime haha. No clue

    Fuck me. Pulled the whole locker motor apart, cleaned it, replaced parts...still doesent work. Can't even hear it trying to turn. Seems like the magnet part gets warm when I hit the button a few times. Gonna get a volt tester and try to compare against Andy's locker next weekend...but I'm at a total loss why it doesent work

    did u knock out the center piece with the spring on it? i didn't, it spun both directions against the spring. i thought it was good. not. the center piece is supposed to spin WITH the spring.... big difference. also make sure your 3 electrical contacts r touching. also that you timed the center contact piece correctly. the tricky part is i have the factory ecu with light, you just have a switch and relay huh?

    hmmm. im not exactly sure we tested it close enough with that center piece with the spring. I mean we took it out and cleaned it, but just kind of...put it back on lol. By three electrical contacts you mean the ones that touch the metal surface of the gear?

    ya I just have a relay.

    can you go into slightly more detail about setting the spring right/timing that center contact piece? Like I said we really didnt spend much time on that. then again we never actually took the spring/center piece apart. that whole assembly with the multi direction spring and shaft the drive gear sit on came out together as one piece and we put it back in as one piece.

    it comes out as one piece but should spin. i can tell you didn't follow the write up close enough. i literally had to read it 3 times and go step by step and pay attention to the pictures.
    id find another first gen trd and hook your locker up. see if its the locker or your setup

    it can be a first or second. It should work on andys, which is what we are going to try next weekend. No i did not follow the write up close enough, and for my sake I hope not. That would mean there's nothing really wrong and we just put it back together incorrectly.

    I'm not sure he ordered the double ended one, might be sloppy seconds :eek:

    I need tires for Moab also. Was thinking 255s for the Taco, or the Taco gets the 4runners sloppy seconds if they come out with those 34x10.5r17 soon. BFG needs to get that size on the presses.
