I would say colin knows what he is talking about, the older style bushings must not require the larger washers.

So it's safe to say these seem right and all the parts are there including the small washers.... When did they switch to the new bushings and is it worth upgrading the bushings to the new style

I emailed toytec the pic and they said the washers don't look right either... I don't get it... Either something weird is going on or I'm missing something. I may just order new ones and have peace of mind vs getting screwed trying to save a buck

reuse the factory washers with them. only the spc ride bushings require the new washers (not what's in your picture anyway). reason being, the factory washers are "stepped" or "tapered", whatever you want to call it. with the OEM style rubber bushings, the tapered washers fit just fine. the ride bushings on the other hand function like a polyeurethane bushing, and require a flat washer.

Ok so the bushings look good and just reuse factory washers- anyone know why they would include those small washers for?

I just installed mine and I wish I would have just cut the bolts. I really had to bend the $h!t out of my passenger side fender and a little on the drivers side. I have chipped paint it looks like crap. I bent it back and will probably hit it with some primer as soon as I can get to it. On the other hand its all hidden behind the splash guards so its not even visible. In my opinion do your self a favor and get the bolts.

i've had both. being that the arms are effectively new, i'd use them as is. unless you wheel on a regular basis (high speed wheeling wears them out faster), they should last a good long while.

the new ones are nice, but it's a job, and you have good bushings already.

this is what mine looked like when they completely tore. took 3 years of off road abuse to get to this point.

Thanks- the whole point of buying the set second hand would be to save money- but if I'm ultimately gonna have to order and change the bushings. I might as well buy em new and they'll already come with the new bushings....

I take it the LR ucas aren't powdercoated and just painted- ddnt see anything about it on toytecs website...

the new bushings are only like $30 if i remember correctly, soyou're still saving money if you chose to guy them.

and yes, i believe they're just painted. mine had some rust spots, so i repainted when i swapped bushings. weather or not you swap bushings now, it couldn't hurt to ad a coat of paint before you instal them on the truck

Does anyone know if you buy em new do the UCAs come with the bushing pressed in or you have to do it your self?

If I do decide to buy new instead of this second hand set- where the best place to get em? I seen a few diff websites and i checked the group buy- but nothing.

What is the estimated life expectancy of the LR ball joint with minor offloading (a few minutes just to get to the camp spot- under 5 mph , nothing extreme) and about 2.75-3" lift???

The forums are the bomb- glad I posted this thread....

sweet- great price- i emailed them if it comes with the new bushings...if it does then Im going with these....

anyone know the life of these ball joints compared to a uniball?

i know the uniball require more lube/grease and can be noisier...

my second more expensive choice was Built Right
