Waste of money, but it shouldn't hurt anything.

Why would you want to? The additive is supposed to help the working of the LSD... no LSD nothing to help. So why put out the extra cash for the additive?

the reason I ask, I painted over the sticker on the differential, and I've read on this form thats how you tell if you have LSD,or is there another
    way?

Do you have a TRD Sport or TRD Off Road?

Lift the rear axle off the ground so both tires can spin. (Obviously you need to chock the front tires well.)

With the truck in neutral, rotate one wheel. Watch the other wheel. If it rotates in the opposite direction with little resistance, you have an open diff or a worn out LSD. If it rotates the same direction, you have a functioning LSD.

At least, that's how we always told the difference on older muscle cars.

^ With torsen LSD, if there is no preload, I think the opposite wheel will spin the other way even if the diff is in good condition.

That lifted tire test is not valid on all axles.

A lock right is a locker. Lockers do not need or benefit from additives.

It is most likely torsen. The older 4Runner and pickups used torsen rear diffs. Today's full-time 4WD Toyotas (4Runner Limited, GX460, LX570) still use torsen center diffs.

Anyway, TRD Sport models should come with the LSD standard.

No. THe TRD LS Diff uses friction plates, and needs the addative. The Torsen LS was used in the Toyota Supra, And SC430 in the rear, and the AWD 4Runners, Landcruisers, and some AWD Fj's used them in the center.
