    That is fine (and normal)... BECAUSE the sand/traction under both tires was EQUAL!

    If one side was softer or deeper (less traction) than the other side:

    OPEN DIFF: The less traction tire would spin, and the 'good' tire on firmer ground would not... ie. you b stuck.

    LIMITED SLIP: The less traction tire would spin a bit, then slow down diverting more power to the good tire... a chance you won't be stuck.

    LOCKER/ A-TRAC: The less traction tire would not slip, but instead rotate the same as the traction tire (ie. both the same). A-TRAC allows a bit of slip periodically in case you need to steer or to check if it is even needed, a locker does not.

    hmmm Ill have to check for the sticker, but I pressure wash the hell out of my undercarriage since I live on the beach, might have been cleaned off. is there any other way to tell if it is or not?

    ^Gracias Senior. Ill have my friend who works at Yota take a look at it.


    I had a 1st gen DC that was an open, peg leg all the time with single sand roosts off the RR no matter what and thats what I expected today but when I looked back and saw 2 I was shocked.

    ^ha yeah I remember that. I know how they all function, I just wasnt sure what mine is equipped with since Ive only owned it for a few months.

    Now that is funny:). As a noob I am having a pretty tough time following some of this, but you guys are great and def know your stuff. what do you call the 03 PreRunner TRD with the diff lock switch on the dash?:confused:
