I bought a little Colorado when I needed one a couple years ago. Finally decided to make the leap to Toyota. My brother-in-law works for GM, so it made sense to keep it in the family with the Chevy's, but the Colorado was so much less of a truck than the Tacoma. I still love my Tahoe - I think you can see it in one of the pictures below.= - and it was well worth the family discount.

But the Tacoma is the right fit for what I need it for. I have been lurking around here for a while - learning about the pro and cons, doing countless searches for tire, lift, audio and every other mod you can think of. Those will have to wait. Looks good and drives well just as it is.

Went with black and already I can see some scratches and every little speck of dust. I may have to swap out the speakers first as they seem a little weak. No tire shake or whatever some have been calling it. Smooth and loving the automatic (not really sure why I went with manual in the Colorado).

I will also get a tool box, most likely the UWS low profile box.

So far the truck is perfect. Size, looks, power and options. Here are some shots. I will be lurking....

220 miles so far. Blue tooth hooked up. XM stations set, half tank of gas gone and twice visited a demolition site - so it's even dirty.

Gotta figure out what to use to wash. Going to order floor mats, bed mat and the lo pro tool box. Other than that, I think it will stay the same.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I look forward to deleting my account so that I don't want to lift my truck and trick it out like so many of the Tacoma's on here!

I'll be lurking and using the search function to catch up on a little reading. (just what I needed, another forum).

Before that it was sandbags and driving intelligently. 20+ years of winter driving experience in some of the best snow storms also helps. But I always have my Tahoe to fall back on. Remote start and heated leather out of the snow in the garage helps too.

Looking forward to slopping the Tacoma around for the next few years. I have been fortunate with other trucks in the past. I am hoping this Tacoma can keep up with the 99 Explorer I had a few yars ago. 255k and I think I only had to replace one bulb besides the regular maintenance stuff. I even drove it from Atlanta to San Fran in 31.5 hours. Alone. Cannonball style. Never skipped a beat. This Tacoma fells as strong. Keeping my fingers crosses.
