I did but just a little as it didn't really feel right to me but I didn't touch anything with the straw. Did you notice any performance increase? My truck feels like it's running a little stronger but that might just be my imagination telling me it should feel better.

For me, my idle seems smoother. The truck has a smoother feel under load as well. Throttle response feels better too, but that's probably just placebo. But who knows... the can says "+4-10HP to the wheels!" I'm guessing it's probably around 4 HP haha

FWIW that bulb is the "intake air temp" sensor, the MAF is up inside the tube.

The "delicate looking resistors" is the MAF sensor.

Makes sense to disconnect the battery after cleaning or replacing the MAF to reset the STFT and LTFT values. Probably wouldn't hurt to do this regularly anyway to make sure everything else is working fine.

or pull the EFI fuse so you don't have to reset your radio.

The video on the first page shows the bulb to be the airflow sensors not the resistors... This makes more sense to me as that's where it could read air flow.. Is there anything to back up your point? Just to clarify

The video is wrong, common knowledge. Go back and watch at 2:58. The sensor mentioned in the blue caption box is the MAF sensor. If you need more, consult the factory service manual for drawings.

Know what? I'm sarting to think there's no point to resetting the fuel trims. LTFT recalibrates within minutes or less as you drive. and STFT never saves any values anyways.

its probably wiser to just keep everything the way it was so you don't have to re run all the monitors which can take 200 miles. relearning the LTFT takes maybe 5.

Update: 4 months later it's still running well, but there was no improvement to mpg. Still trying to figure out why I'm only averaging 14.1 around town.

Heavy foot. Heavy truck. lots of air resistance. Changing gears at too high of an rpm. Need engine, transmission, and/or gear oil change. Dont go faster than 70 on the freeways

And i think 14/17 is suppoed to be what we get

Thanks for the tips. For 4 years I got 16.5 on every tank & haven't changed how/where I drive since. About 2 years ago it started dropping. I've flushed the trans, keep the engine oil fresh, rear diff is in good shape too.

But <70 freeway, now you're asking too much!

Well I wish I would have read through this thread before I pulled my MAS and cleaned it and my K&N air filter. Apperntly I really only cleaned the temp bulb.
I did see the other two resists in the black housing. But they didn't look dirty at all. But I did disconnect the plug from the sensor. I did not disconnect the battery though because I wasn't sure how that would have effected my Bully Dog GT Tuner (possible program reset). Should I pull the EFI fuse before I try to start the truck or am I OK without it?
