Will a 3D or 4D cell battery mag lite fit here on 3rd gen drivers side seat with those Maglite clips? Or another full size Maglite fit… recommendations largest that will fit? Thank you

Dude. Buy a flashlight and keep it in the glove box. Why drill into the side of the seat bottom?

I keep a large "I's gonna beat yooor hippy ass" Maglite because it can make a good weapon if needed, but it is near the jack under the back seat. I upgraded the wimpy halogen bulb to an LED bulb. (pictures below comparing output).

My GPS watch has a small LED flashlight in it (Garmin Instinct Solar 2X). Not the strongest but always on my wrist if needed. My next flashlight will likely be a Streamlight Wedge XT ... EDC-sized and 500 lumen (supposedly casts light to 200 ft.

If we’re gonna talk flashlights, I keep a sofirn SP36, rovyvon A4, and pelican 3310PL in my truck. Overkill for sure, but it’s fun

My strap-headlamp is in the truck because I use it for hiking and many items (shoes, backpack, extra clothes) are in the truck as well ... Black Diamond Storm that has the nice "hold to adjust".

The sofirn is 8000 lumens max, the rovyvon is small and has tritium pellets to find it (no max specifiied, but is keychain), pelican is max 370 lumens but glows in the dark. Expensive trio of flashlights ...

"I's gonna beat yooor hippy ass" :D

With the LED lightbulb upgrade, it is wicked-bright. And the solid metal body serves any number of purposes from hammering-tool to self-defense as well.

I keep a ColdSteel Shambok there for "snakes". The 36" one fits nicely and gives me some reach.

I would rather keep a collapsible baton there.
    https://store.smith-wesson.com/tact...e-26-collapsible-baton/SWBAT26LT.html#start=1

And then have a reasonable sized flashlight that takes 3 or 4 AAA Batteries or an 18650.
If you just want the light to be tactical, get one with a "crenaled bezel" or what is basically a DNA Evidence Extraction Kit on the end
    https://everydaycarry.com/best-tactical-flashlights/

This light has been made under a variety of names from A-TAC, WaWoo, Balai, and now it looks like it is Reachoo or Hoxida. I've been running a few of these and every time I have another flashlight die due to battery corrosion or other, I replace it with one of these. The only ones I don't replace with it are the ones I keep at each entry point to the house with a clip. Those get disposable blister pack flashlights like you get in a 4 pack at Costco for $20.
    https://www.amazon.com/Flashlight-R...ergency/dp/B09T9KHLP6?crid=24O1OKCYPOJJ8&dib=

    My requirements are:
    • Tail cap for on off functionality - you'd be surprised how many of these lights are not really "off" when you use the function selector switch. They still power the lights "brain" 24/7 drawing current.
    • Separate multi function button - for the reasons above.
    • Three power levels - High Med Low
    • Strobe - Have used that before and it works well. Great deterrent.
    • SOS - Would rather not have it. Seems useless but hey. If the light comes with it then OK, so be it.

I have a buddy that served in several third world hell holes at the request of the State Department and then patrolled some nasty inner city neighborhoods between deployments. He said that when they would dismount and walk the streets abroad or at home and go into markets or alleys or the like that occasionally the people would start to mob and come up on them. Sometimes 10 to 20 people. They weren't bothered by the AR rigged to his chest and his pistol. When less seasoned operators panicked and brought up weapons the crowd wasn't phased. It wasn't a deterrent or a motivator. But when he whipped out the baton and it made that SNIK sound extending, he said you would get an instant 20 foot radius and when you moved, the radius moved with you. Turns out most people living in those places have been beaten before and the stick was a bigger fear motivator than the gun or knife.

So I have a collapsible baton at the front door because I can leave it there and don't have to worry about it being a firearm that could fall into the hands of a child if people with children were to visit us. Deployed it just the other day when a solicitor decided that the "No Trespassing - No Soliciting - No Handbills" sign wasn't enough and he wanted to press his luck and argue the semantics of what really is "soliciting." I verbally trespassed him three times and then deployed the baton SNIK! Told him 911 has a 14 minute response average. That gives me 13 minutes of pure @$$-whipping time to beat you before the roll up and catch me in the act. His eyes got big and he hauled off the property. As he left I told him I better not catch him at a neighbors house. He kept booking it down the street.

Another thought about MagLights - Holy Jesus! Have you bought D-Cells lately? Hard to find and when you do they cost more than the flashlight.
