Yep, she's a 2 1/2 year old blue nose. Magnetic Gray like the truck.

    Need some help.

I am a Registered Nurse in Fairbanks, Alaska. When the phone rings in the middle of the night, I have to go and I have to get there. I am looking for 10 years, maybe 15 and possibly 20 years out of my new truck.

Trading in a taco sized truck by a different mfr, financing approved, I pick it up Monday. 2015 magnetic gray, access cab, V6, auto, 4x4, class IV hitch.

My wife is 4'10", I need tube steps with a little bit of drop too them. I am not opposed to slider bars, but they don't reach low enough to help my wife get in the truck.

Current front runner is OEM in powder coated black tube steps. But, I have seen the first 100 and most recent 26 pages of this thread, and I really like the look of an aftermarket set with a (very handy looking) third step at the front corner of the bed.

When I followed the link the actual part was for a crew cab Tundra, and no option from that vendor to select 2015 Tacoma.

So, first, what other model years can I put in to look at tube steps that will fit my 2015 Tacoma?

Besides OE, what wall thickness do I really want as a minimum for a long lasting tube step? .080? .120?

Worst case for terrain I will occasionally be out in state forests dragging a trailer to bring home some cordwood, on logging roads. Worst case for hospital call is -40dF ambient with 50 mph winds and 6" of fresh snow on top of 6+ inches of hardpacked snow, I'll be in 4WD high with chains on all four corners for those, on public roads.

Thanks. You guys are doing stuff with some of your Tacomas I wouldn't try with a ATV.

My wife isn't 4'10", (5'2"), but uses my oem steps (not tube steps) all the time. They are plenty sturdy enough for steps. If you plan on dragging them off-road, though, you should look into frame mounted sliders.

There's also "steps" that droop down a good bit that can simply attach to the slider when you need them and then be removed when you don't. I believe BAMF (Bay Area Metal Fab) was working on a set.

You can also have the vendor set the sliders to 0 degrees to help her get it and the sliders will still be fully functional.
    Hope this helps.
