Sold my Black '15 bc it scratched too easily if touched or looked at it the wrong way. Does anyone know if Magnetic Grey is more element resistant safe and does well over time or is the safest bet perhaps Super White? Thanks for any insights.

Not sure how much of insight this is but I bought a magnetic grey Tacoma back in April. I haven't even given it its first bath yet because if the weather we've been having of constant rains, yet doesn't look terrible.

I have metallic grey and live on a dirt road. It is definilty better then black....but, my silver 4Runner was absolutly the best at not showing dirt and scratches.

White always looks dirty, and shows deep scratches like crazy. My buddy has a white Tacoma and he regrets it. Another buddy has the MGM and it barely shows anything. YMMV.

@Dagosa, that was my exact same 4runner! Man I miss her.

To the OP, my plan is to buy one of the TRD models in either MGM or SSM. I'm thinking of it is the Sport, then it will be the Silver, the OR it would be the MGM as the black wheel flares might not look so bad.

    Man, me toooooo.
I replaced it after 11 years with the Taco because they made the new one too big, took away the standard AWD, made it ride and handle terribly. I sold it to a lady who had a 2012 4 Runner, sold it and bought mine because she liked it better.
IMHO, they made the new gen 4 Runner more truck like without increasing off road much, because it took sales from the Highlander. The pervious gen 4 Runner, except for mediocre mileage, was the best damn
Do anything, all round vehicle EVER made. Just my bias POV.....I miss mine too. If the new Taco rides and handles as good as they say, that might ease the pain of the loss of that great vehicle for many.

To OP, Don't ever get another black vehicle for yourself...you're not a black car kind of person...meaning black cars/trucks are hard to maintain...it shows all defect. Black looks best in a lot of vehicles, but you have to know how to wash and wax without scratching the paint. All tacomas have same paint...it's just that black shows best defect because it's reflects images well.

If you want to hide scratches...get silver... you can not wash your truck for a month or two before it show dirt. It can have a lot of defect...kind of like a Monet... it looks good far away, but not up close.

I wanted a Black truck...blue would even be better but they stop making them in regular cab. I got MGM because it the only thing available to me locally ...so it was my third choice in color. The upside is that it does hide dirt and scratches better...but Silver is your best bet.

You can see wife's Venza which is the same color, shows the dust and dirt on wiindow but not bad on paint unless you get close..... Silver is the best unless you buy , a "mudd colored " truck. Gold should be good too. The Kubota runs better when dirty....never clean a tractor. They will break down earlier if you do.image.jpg

I went from Magnetic grey to super white and I regret it. Magnetic grey just looks so good. The white shows mud/stains very easily.

I used to own a super white prerunner, did a good job hiding scratches but I got tired of the color quick... I'd go for the MGM

If you don't like black , Mag gray is one step away. The best colors for making nasty things invisible and always looking clean are Silver and White. Highly reflective colors which are very nice like, Mag Gray, Red, Black show EVERYTHING, the worst being dreaded "swirls" and dings which are very hard to notice on silver and white. Dirt and mud cleans off great.

I am kicking around inferno. People will SEE that color easily but white is my favorite.

MGM is a great colour for a truck, no doubt.
But after having a black truck for 9 years, I made the switch to white. Ya, I get the "contractor" comments from some buds, but after 2 years of owning and zero maintenance to the paint ( I know I know, gotta wax) the paint is amazing.
Best thing of all: NO SWIRL MARKS!!!

White is the best for no-maintenance, looking-good-fresh-washed-in-the-summertime.

All depends on what you plan to do with it. If you wheel it/off-road I'd say white or the new tan. I've had two dark gray Toyotas and one white. The next one will be white, silver, or the tan. I've done a lot of off-roading and have lots of slight scratches to prove it. Panamint Pin Stripes!

Silver hides dirt and scratches better than any other color. A metallic gold is another good color for hiding imperfections (obviously not a taco option).

Metallic colors are better than gloss or matte colors any day of the week for hiding imperfections/dirt. 99% of my cars have been a charcoal gray with a couple silvers.

I really wanted to order my 16 taco trdor in quicksand, but being non metallic i knew it would show every little scratch and that would annoy me. Because of that i opted for the mgm.

Go with super white. The MGM looks great when its clean but you can see a scratch on it from a mile away. A similar scratch on white will remain unseen and has someone else said no swirl marks. I had a 08 super white before my 13 pyrite mica and the paint was near perfect when I sold it except for a few rust specks showing on the bed just in front of the rear wheels. Had I waxed the vehicle that probably would not have happened either.
