Awesome, I want to make my way over that way. Just moved to Maine a year and a half ago and my goal for this spring/summer is to get out and explore a lot of the state.

What part of the state are you living in? Definitely keep an eye on this thread, its not the most active, but theres usually some good stuff going on every now and then.

Feels good to get a little muddy now that the snow is starting to melt

Nice, looks like we are getting more snow tomorrow. I will have to break out the snowblower (hopefully) one last time.

Nope, in March I tend to just clean up the entry way, unless it’s a ton. April, wait a minute or few it’ll melt.

I installed my pop lock tailgate kit, and my 1.25" wheel spacers.. tires fill out the wheel wells a lot nicer now.. and the truck feels much more stable in turns. steering radius changed, but not too bad.. went to check out a local trail..

was near a small stream crossing that looked a bit sketchy (foot tall ice banks that drop off into the water).. and went to back up, and turn around.. the ice underneath the front end broke away, and the truck slid into the stream... DAMNIT!... I tried to go into 4lo rear locker on.. no traction... crap... hoofed it out of the trail about 1/2mile and found a shop that lent me a come-along, and length of chain... I had my 10ft towstrap, but nothing else.. the come-along allowed enough downforce on the rear end, and was able to drive back a bit. before the ice snagged my front mudflap hit the tire and removed it.. luckily I was able to recover the mud flap unscathed.. and i stacked up ice to build a ramp up the ice face on the passenger side.. tried backing out of the hole... but alas no traction.. I went forward a foot or so.. and I bumped the ramp in reverse... truck is out of the hole!!! pheww well not out of the woods yet.. I backed up to a small turning spot.. I attempted to back into it... I got a little close to some branches.. when i turned the wheel to go forwards the rear end got REALLY CLOSE to the branches and ripped my drivers side bumper cover off, cracking the plastics, and popping off 2 of the 5 plastic pop rivets that hold it on.. the ones that stayed there are the ones that brake the plastic.. threw the parts in the bed, and drove out of the woods..

I returned the chain, and come-along I borrowed.. and talked witht eh guy fora bit.. he was one I had bought my 1974 CJ-5 from, and had built as a trail rig.. he had seen it a few years ago when i took it through the same trail. we talked for a bit, and I thanked him a few times for his tools. he showed me his truck that he had just finnished an engine swap on.. it was a single cab dodge 1500 low to the ground on 20" rims low profile tires... he popped the hood to show me a twin turbo'd & intercooled chevy ls7 motor with a metal intake/runners. said it had over 1200HP, and an AWD system. it looked beautiful!

I would have taken a pic or two.. but I was too pissed about the stream, and getting stuck..
Here's a pic of the attempted repair... loctite 3200psi epoxy..

I'm just letting it melt, I've decided. Not worth tearing the driveway up.

Really? I can only wish. Forecast here is for 8-12" today; another 3-5" tomorrow night. I'll be using my garden tractor w/snowthrower to clear the driveway

    What?
The highest amount I saw forecast on the news this AM was from channel 13, for 6-10 possible North of Bangor. Channel 6 had an "8+" section, but it was over the Moosehead/Flagstaff region.

    From WABI this am:
From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

"Low pressure is forecast to move through New England today. This will bring us quite a bit of precipitation today, most of which will fall in the form of snow. Snow may come down at a pretty good clip at times this afternoon. Enough warm air may work into areas from Bangor southward during the afternoon to cause the snow to change to some sleet and possibly all rain but it looks like the bulk of the precipitation will fall as snow before any changeover occurs. Temperatures will be chilly today with highs only in the mid-20s to low 30s. Any lingering snow will taper to snow showers later this evening and into the night tonight. Snowfall accumulations by later this evening will range from 4”-8” for most locales; higher amounts of 8”-12” will be possible for Central and Northern Somerset as well as Central and Northern Piscataquis Counties. Temperatures will drop back to the 20s for overnight lows."

Have seen two separate NWS warnings that give two different totals for one area. I personally hope they're wrong, but will do what is required once the precipitation ends...
