I know most of us have a collection, but what of each category of firearm (Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol) do you keep going back to. You can divide it up by sub cats.
Pic related are my favorites. A 2011 built by Fusion for me out of parts I had an an AR I slapped together that has through gone many changes including different recievers into what I want out of it now.

POST SHIT OR DELETE USER. We are done waiting loser.
Curious as to what your reasoning was for going "milspec" originally. I currently have a "M16A4" clone (where it counts) and M17, but that's because I compete in MAC competitions and practice on my own outside of funded marksmanship team days. Personally it seems like Pre-covid milspec was "above PSA, and a tad bit above Arrow", at least when it comes to rifles. I won't shit on the M17, cause I've had seen no issues with my M17 or my buds gucci'd out 320s, and the issues I've had with them has been with shitty winchester M1152 ammo. I've shot more AE and Blazer out of my M17-P320 and had no issues (across 1500 rounds), yet I've had squibs, failure to fires, failure to feeds and stove pipes out of M17's (across 2k rounds, 20 total failures) using that flat nose winchester crap.

Sucks for practice because M1152 practice rounds are a P++ load if I've ever known. I ended up with a dozen of the rounds in my range back after a practice and used them for testing. My bud loaded my mags (blind to me) and marked each round as he loaded them as either Fed champ, Fed AE, Blazer or the milspec and then loaded the weapon so I was blind and we reverse roles and did the same (6 rounds of milspec each in a 21rd). We both knew which rounds were the milspec.
Staying with what works, I can't hate on a guy who does that.

Mostly went with it (carbine) because it was what I am most proficient on after years of repetition, and also the most versatile platform I had at the time (and still is really). I didn't really seek out milspec by design, but sorta turned out that way due to the commonality of what I wanted in an all-around weapon platform and what .mil wants. It's not gucci by any means, but I know it'll do the job I ask it to every time it comes out of the case.

Going to 11.5 SBR to run a can and have a similar OAL, plus shorten the lever arm on the front cuz DBALs and lights and cans get heavy/torquey in combination.

RE: the M17, went with it due to being able to accept a red dot, wasn't a glock (personal choice), and being current milspec will offer a decent amount of holster options unlike my HKs. Same results for me on ammo. It'll eat 115/124/147gr Federal, CCI/Blaser, PPU, WWB, Magtech all day no issue. I would be willing to bet a fair sum of money that the issue has to do with the "truncated cone" flat nose design on those bullets. I have yet to see a flat nose projectile of the "range ammo" category feed reliably in any handgun/subgun (outside of .40sw that was designed for it) that wasn't a high dollar defensive round. Doesn't help that it's made by winchester which has ammo known for being "meh" at best.

Looks like batteries, Probably 1650's or 1680's since they are the new thing to use in fullsize weaponlights because of the recharge factor.

My M-600DF uses them. Case probably are CR123's for the pistol/DBAL.

Side note, nice NV trash ;p

I would get some, but that's taking away from ammo. Like seriously, that's about 2-3yrs worth of green tip and flat nose winchester crap for practice.

Plus maybe it's from my experience with Nasty-girl hand me downs but god damn those PVS-14's aren't worth the current market price, fish bowl AF perception, grainy picture even in doors and if there is a bit of fog or rain you can't see shit.

Which is totally my excuse for those jack rabbits that were probably fucking.

    2x 18650s and 4x 123s. 2 battery changes each for both platforms.

Sounds like you need to shoot more, then it shortens the timespan ;) I totally agree that some of the more premium -14 trim options are at absurd pricepoints vs dual tube options like RNVGs for not much more. Keep your eyes open and you can find some more pallatable deals on -14s, esp if youre willing to jump on a blem unit.

If your only experience with NV is .mil issue stuff, privately owned (and more importantly maintained) assets are miles ahead, even if using the same green phosphor -14 unit. It helps if you have the means to get your hands on a high specs example thanks to a called in favor from a buddy.

Obv, fisheye, etc is universal by nature of the design, but theres a lot of aftermarket solutions that can correct the known pitfalls of single tube NODs.

Exactly. Got it stuck on during a zero session and it took the bench vise back home to twist it off. These Knipex should be good for a portable solution.
