I just bought my Tacoma Used from a dealership, about 3 days later the maintenance required light is on, dealer says its just based on a timer and goes on every 5000 miles and its on now because at some point someone had gone over the 5000 threshold before resetting it and it wasn't reset after they performed all the necessary maintenance to sell it.
Its @ 57k miles so I know a 60k is due soon which it looks like they skipped out on doing a 60k early before selling it.

Ok. So get the service done and reset the light.
The light is only for oil change intervals.

I dont care about that light at all. I do my own oil every 3k, and keep track of what matinence is due by the odometer. Just reset it and move on.
