Those exact people exist on the east coast, you just need to live like 4hrs south west of where you are now!

I'll have to check the podcast out

 College isn't always for everyone and I definitely want my Son to know the same. For my wife and I it was, but we took it seriously (we both for the most part put ourselves through it) and do well. Hard part for me is focusing my money into one hobby. Between snowboarding, riding, and wheeling the money gets split in so many directions. I love seeing how you and your Dad use wheeling to hang out. Definitely a hope for me one day. My Dad was a contractor by trade, never mechanically inclined and never had the luxury of hobbies, but worked his ass off his whole life to try to give us the better life he never had. I hope now I can provide my Son with an even better life and him and I can enjoy the type of stuff you and your Dad do together. It's honestly been my dream since we decided we wanted to be parents.

F/R Locked and Wheel Every Weekend are pretty much the only ones I listen to. Great for those 2+ hour drives to the offroad parks.

And I know they exist out here, that's most of my old crew still. But as we all started having kids and getting sick of paying the prices of local wheeling we save those times for bigger trips or when life is a little less hectic. Would just be cool to meet those folks specifically, you included. That's why I love this forum, it really lets you see like minded people through their builds. I rarely go on Insta anymore unless it's to post so this is where I see the majority of the cool shit being done.

Yeah we used to do dirt bikes and that’s how my dad and I hung out and I couldn’t get hurt for work and he was getting older so this was our next hobby. With him moving out of state now it’s harder to see each other but having hobbies in common makes it a lot easier.

and I get the multiple hobby thing. I have trouble spending money on car parts, rzr parts and tools and yard shit etc. some months I go crazy other months I gotta watch what I spend lol.

As for podcasts I really like snail trail 4x4. Good info and guys are easy to listen too.

Day trip to sand hollow to shake down everything before trail hero next week. Everything seems to have worked except the fan on the trans cooler but I’ll bypass the thermostat and just leave it to constant on when the key is on. Also took the camper and slept in it and worked out well. Looking forward to more trips. 8560441C-B3FA-4502-A0E6-40E22706CAEC.jpg6C32E812-A9EE-41A5-9FBA-FF6C9F2940E9.jpg52CFA6D3-6C10-434F-8322-7102F4DBC474.jpg697B55BE-D60C-46BE-84A9-8EF4AAF7DA7C.jpg

That truck is what happens when you dedicate yourself to something you love and put that much work into it.

By the way. Wanted to thank @malburg114 for basically changing my perspective on life. He was the only one who said don't get a 4wu kit and because of that little idea he put in my head I got to really do something really cool for the past 7 months instead of sheepin out. Thanks man. Seriously owe you for that one.

Or what happens when you make poor decisions and get really expensive hobbies hahaha

Glad I could help. Just watch out for the cult/bandwagon group that’ll tell you your wrong. Your setup is coming out sweet and hopefully we get to wheel together one day.

I can grab some pictures tomorrow of the shifters.

trans cooler seems to be working well. Before I just ran it through the radiator and got this to help save the new trans. I just made a jumper wire so it’s constant on when the key is on. I don’t have a gauge yet but my dads jeepster has the same one and seems to keep his cool

Th fan is a good idea for low speed stuff. Your shit is done smart.

Trail hero was a good time. Busiest it’s ever been. No real issues. Front driveshaft vibrated/sheared the bolts off the axle end but I had some extras and threw it back together and continued to wheel. 38B98EE7-C528-42B9-9047-504A9F6D6A50.jpg52AD277F-8C8E-4BC8-AF9E-6D3032983040.jpgE2853C6C-9D3A-4D54-B664-61E9993155BD.jpgA439EFDB-EF9A-47FE-8614-16DF5089318C.jpgDCE8E619-ECF4-428A-A819-6E1B091F8561.jpg430359AD-499D-47BB-A6BC-8442F845E3E6.jpg

Got a question..... Im not 100% sure everything is gonna work out til I run it so gonna stick with just the 4l80 mount to crossmember then was gonna add 2 more points of contact and the t case brace setup to another xmember. In the mean time how much flex do you think I will get up and down from atlas with the 2 5/8" adaptor and the rest hanging?

I honestly have no clue how much flex you’ll get with just the atlas hanging. My dad ran no atlas support on his tj for a while and after cracking two transmission outputs he put an atlas crossmember and hasn’t had issues since. I can tell with my two crossmembers there’s less rotation/movement in it vs my Toyota cases. I could watch the shifters move on the Toyota cases cs the atlas I don’t see them move at all.
