And just at the beginning of summer I finished the sweptline.

It’s cool and fast but manual brakes and steering is a little much when my daily round trip is 100 miles. So been trying to trade it for another Tacoma, 4runner dump trailer. Really anything. If anyone’s interested let me know.

I also picked up some new tools. Got a new bigger mill, a couple lathes and a ton of tooling. Already got the mill in and been using it and most the tooling cleaned. This winter I’ll work on the lathes. A while back I picked up a cnc plasma table as well and got that up and running. 37C24046-1EA6-4892-BDCE-632ED8EC9BB4.jpg7D5B157A-EC33-4DF0-9EC0-1BC3F84E4D34.jpg2621FAA4-BE82-40AA-B90D-BBC4B9448A38.jpg

I haven’t really done anything with the Tacoma. Just washed it and used the winch a few times. The trans leaks which I hope is around the dipstick and I ordered a new seal for it. I still have to fix the air line for the rear air locker as well. But I dragged the red cab back in and started working on the cage again. any more pics of how tight that front hoop is to the A-pillar? I'm struggling to be happy with my own bends.

The driver side is real tight with just the single bend and sits above the door frame and I’m not worried about heading my head on it. I’m using the stock dash bar. The passenger one needs a little something as the dash bar curves down and I didn’t account for it.
Best picture o have for now

So I need some lights. I drive about 20 miles at night on a back road that’s got wild donkeys, horses and elk on them all the time to get to work. It’s highway ish speeds (50-65 depending on weather) and I’ve always been a cheap ass and bought no name stuff. Well I’ve come to find out that there is a difference in name brand stuff and am wanting brighter lights for my daily Toyota and my dodge. The Toyota I want something “old school” looking so think round 7in hid.

the dodge I want something bright. Can fit a 20 in bar in the lower grill or make small push bar to hold some lights.

Any suggestions? Not trying to spend big money.

Check out diode dynamics. They make great stuff that doesn't break the bank.

What is cheap and big money for this?

    20" ONX6+ is bright but near $7-800

This has a less expensive option or two. Including round lights - idk if you mean actual halogens / HID or just round:

Anything over 300 for two I consider big money lol. I’ve been looking at Baja designs pods but those are still pretty small. I’ve had good luck with aux beam in the past so I may try another set of lights from the.

Keep an eye out for lights on Vilmont Market on Instagram - lots of guys are selling BD lights that are brand new after they decided not to put them on their truck or sold their trucks and went back to stock...

This is something I'm thinking of using:

Thanks I just followed them. I’ll keep my eye out on there as it seems to have good deals.

Someone told me it's unsafe to tie your cage into the original crash bar and that you should have your own crash bar instead. So here I am regurgitating what I read. It probably holds some value though.

With the amount of bracing I’ll have and it being tied into my engine cage and frame at 6 points in the cab, I’m not to concerned. Truck won’t be raced so that also helps my case. Thanks though.
It may get a bar above the factory one but that’s to come later on

Might as well do a full custom dash while you have it all apart :boink:

Also, why don't you use a tube roller or something to better profile that A-pillar tube to the contours of cab?

I’m hoping to keep the original dash but if it falls apart I’ll do a fiberglass dash. Stock dash will make keeping the radio, ac/heat and other controls easiest. And I like the look of a cage with the stock dash.

simple answer is I don’t have a tube roller lol
pictures are deceiving. The cage is super tight. I screwed up the bend on the passenger a pillar because the dash bar dips lower on the passenger side. I’ll rebend a tube with more length to fix it.

Trail hero pictures. We ran some hard trails and no issues. My shifter cable has been getting hot from the exhaust so I’d like to replace that and I have clunk on hard climbs at the transfer case from the driveshaft I need to figure out. Pictures do some of these things no justice 41789142-9370-42D5-91CE-2172DAE0F09B.jpgE7BD76E2-8792-460C-8586-FAE2CC48DB83.jpgB7E58B44-1B87-4E2D-BAAF-5505DF8D75E9.jpg1BDA62F6-6193-4465-BC79-6C2EBEACB27E.jpg88F70754-E351-4DF2-B8A6-43B174937951.jpgB4BB179B-6E60-405F-9EFB-0DD6AABC5D34.jpg
