I burned up the ac clutch in the 89 for some reason so got that swapped and bought the stuff to charge the system myself which seems to have worked and also recharged the Tacomas ac so it blows cold now. 89 also got new belts and some new hid lights since I drive so much at night on our two lane road littered with donkeys and horses.

Washed the Tacoma yesterday and spent today getting the radiator pulled and flushed along with pulling the thermostat and flushing the engine. We poured some stop leak in the old radiator trying to clog the hole and didn’t want that stuff in the motor. I also made some shift knobs and started mounting the intercom and new rugged radio.

So far I’m impressed. I changed the oil. Still need to do the hydraulic oil and I ordered some fans. I was worried the ground was to hard around me but it took a full bucket out of the dirt road in front of my house that is super compacted. Should make quick work of the projects I got. I’d like to make a thumb for it and some buckets but some of the stuff is so cheap I may just buy them

and to make it even better it’s just fun to use lol

New thermostat, fresh coolant and the new radiator all back in. Oreillys didn’t have an aisin fan so need to order one of those and waiting on the rugged radio. IMG_6597.jpg

Radios in and works. Almost mounted some old school Baja designs hids for headlights. Inside ones are off the factory switch. Outsides are off the switch panel. Think it looks pretty good. May not be for everyone. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]IMG_6617.jpg IMG_6618.jpg IMG_6634.jpg IMG_6635.jpg IMG_6636.jpg IMG_6637.jpg

Me too. I’ve always liked the old school hid round lights more than the new led stule

Went back up to the rubicon and ran it again for the tacos on the rubicon event. Was a good time. No issues besides a rear end noise in my dad’s jeepster.IMG_6750.jpg IMG_2678.jpg IMG_6782.jpg IMG_6779.jpg

Also made a new door for the Camper before the rubicon. Along with redid the plumbing with pex and new flooring. Thinking of maybe selling it and going to a hard side camper.

And then some odd projects I’ve been doing. Made a cradle for one of the Amazon fridges. A stand for the bead roller. Welded on a winch plate for a guy that rents trailers along with a way to put some aluminum ramps in the factory spot. I made the trailer box for him a few months ago.IMG_6658.jpg IMG_6661.jpg IMG_6695.jpg IMG_6648.jpg IMG_1056.jpg IMG_6685.jpg IMG_6690.jpg IMG_6639.jpg

And started on a new build this week. I’ll probably make another thread to document it all and explain the plans. But just some teasers for nowIMG_6873.jpg IMG_6863.jpg IMG_6852.jpg

The dual pod headlights look great. Better than the single per side imo

I agree. I used to hate the way the single light looked and always wanted to try and fit a stock light back in their but I’m pretty happy with the way these turned out.
Yeah it’s a long way for use to go to only wheel the short distance so we opted to drive around. Still made it from loon to the springs I’m about 4 hours which is new for us and we were just cruising it seemed.

Ya my first time on the rubicon. Next time i will do the west side. Hard because that trailhead is quite a bit farther from home

It took us about 3 hours to drive around so not horrible. The nice weather made it easier

Another good trail hero. It was super hot so not much wheeling. Ran a new trail called sanitarium. It was hard and lots of 3 wheel action. Trans definitely got hot and puked some fluid and melted the shifter cable again. And backed into a sand wall but no real damage. Dads jeepster took some minor damage but all fixable IMG_7351.jpg IMG_7353.jpg IMG_7354.jpg IMG_7357.jpg IMG_7349.jpg

No but I have a ton of pictures from the build. Looking for anything in particular? Or any questions about it I can probably answer. There’s a ton of pictures of it on my Instagram as well. @hambone_fab_works
