This is like the exact truck I want. silver v6 manual trd 4x4 with bfg A/ts.... Would grab it if it didn't have the salvage title. That disqualifies you from the frame replacement right?

Is this true about being disqualified from the frame replacement?

Yes, no frame replacement by Toyota on totaled by insurance company vehicle.

Nice truck but the guy needs to lower the price since it has a salvage title. He claims that the salvage title is a result of bed damage but that sounds strange. It got totaled because of a bed replacement? Carfax?
As you probably know, regardless of the condition of the vehicle , a salvage title drops the value considerable. Ask the guy to take it to a Toyota dealer and get a trade in value. They probably won't even take the vehicle in on trade.

If that Taco spent it's life in Alabama then there should not be a frame rust problem. My 2002 has lived in FL and NC (summer only but no salt used here anyway) and has no frame rust. I had it inspected by Toyota to CYA anyway.

I wouldn't touch a salvage title, especially since you don't know what happened to it.

There are laws/regulations in every state that could make it a 'PITA' to get it registered & insurced and back on the road.

I don't think its worth it. I can't imagine the truck being worth that much with a salvage title. Get the VIN# from seller and check it against carfax if anything.

Price is too high. My 01 has all the same options (V6 SR5 TRD manual tranny pwr everything) and 148k on the clock and I paid $8000. It also came with sliders, 265/75 R16 mud kings, and King coilovers though. I would not pay more than 6 grand for that truck.
