HI, My first post. A bit of a noob question. I have an 09 SR5. I want to remove the cup holder and paint it. It looks like it just pops out? Is this correct? Thanks!

Looks like it should just pop out. Not seeing any screws or bolts holding it in.

Yes, just held in by four clips, one in each corner. Just pull straight up.

Yeah, gonna hit it with some Krylon Fusion. May take me an hour total of time. That paint is great for plastics. Mines pretty scratched up at the moment. Figured a little paint should be good as new.

Other option is to vinyl wrap. Replacing my current CF wrap (had some in the garage) with matte black to match my black steering wheel controls and HVAC surround. The wrap is more resilient than paint and is easily removable should you want to change it.

Been thinking about doing this. Would be awesome to see how this turns out and thoughts on durability - my dog occasionally plants a paw or two on it.

Just a quick update. I've been using my truck daily since I've painted the cup holder. It's still holding up great. No chips or anything. A few scratches from me being a bone head and not paying attention, but that goes with general use of anything.

Anyone know where I can find a replacement cup holder like this? I would also buy used.

    They are $200 from toyota!

try www.car-part.com and search for a manual tacoma. Might be a yard near by you could go and get it, or one close enough they would ship. Probably way cheaper, everyone forgets yards still exist I think.
