    Are the installed correctly. Alot of times the coil isn't seated perfectly in the coil seat on the shock and that causes a little clunk when the coil shifts. How about wheel bearings? Grab your tire from the top and push it in and out of the wheel well until it starts moving the truck a bit, if you hear a click/clunk from the hub, your wheel bearing is going out. Just because you're not hearing the whirring or grinding noise when driving doesn't mean it's fine.

    Because these 3rd Gens have a weird dead spot low in the rpm range, it's hard to describe unless you drive one.

    That's fine. Again, how does that correlate to shifting. I'll repeat myself again, it doesn't matter how little or how much power you have in your power band, if your transmission and engine speeds are synched up perfectly when you release the clutch, there will be no bucking. Bucking is caused when you release the clutch and your engine speed is higher or lower than the transmission speed, causing the transmission and engine to forcefully sync up speeds to each other.

    Maybe phrasing it as lack of low end torque being the issue is wrong and more of the tune causing that dead spot and then a surge, several guys have almost been in an accident trying to cross traffic and have that dead spot hit.

    It's weird in this truck, you can shift perfect but if you end up too low in the rpm range, even say in 2nd, and hit the gas the power delivery seems like a sine wave and bucks the truck back and forth until RPMs get maybe above 2500 or so. And we aren't talking about lugging the engine low RPM.

    Maybe that's what is being referred to? I'm not sure.

    They appear to be installed correctly. I've put 20000 or so hard miles on them. Be strange of an improper install would show up after that many miles bit it's possible.

    Hmm...i wish there was a good way for me to determine if it was this or the cab mounts. I crawled under there tonight and there was nothing obvious. This front cab mounts are pretty well hidden. My dealership in Elko blows so I'm sure they will blame it on my 5100s or tires. Bottom line is I need to get this diagnosed or atleast documented soon. I have 33500 on the truck and that warranty is about to expire. Shit.

    The front most cab mounts support the radiator core. Grab a hold of something solid and pull up and push down. Or open your hood and start pushing down hard in that area to see if you hear anything. It might be tough to capture if the rest of them are good and it's only one bad one. When most of the body mount bushings went bad on my last truck, you could hear that thing creaking and clunking from down the street.

    I actually think one of my shocks up front might be blown or lost its pressure, I've got a clunk as well. Could just be uniballs are shite though. Well see when I replace the uniballs this week. Shocks are due for a rebuild anyhoo.

    So I def. have that small dead spot but is more of just a fraction of a second hesitation and if I'm jamming the pedal it doesn't seem to drop off it just powers right through it. Is yours more defined. Also. Does anyone know if the auto tranny guys have this dead spot hesitation thing going? It doesn't happen during or after a shift but just cruising along while Rpms are increasing. Doesn't seem to be a drive by wire slow response. Just curious if we are all affected.
