Yeah same here, I originally dipped my OR grille too... eventually though, I got tired of it and went the "faux" pro route with Land Cruiser Toyota badge. There's a whole thread on faux grilles if you want a Pro look but also want to save some $$.

Post #483 is the exact setup I have:

Welcome to the world of MT's...Light just came on reminding me of my 40,000 service. Yes, the Pro-Grille is a big improvement (as you can see from my Pic)

I bought the Pro Grille before my Truck, I had the Stock Grille out as soon as I got home from the Dealer with the Truck.

Just hit 500 miles on my 17's odo this afternoon. We took a half day family road trip to the Oregon coast and back just to get some highway and coast range hill miles on it.

I am really not understanding where folks (in other threads) can say this 3.5 is undriveable.
It must be the auto transmission that would give them that feeling that it is lacking something.

I found when pulling the coastal hills today that the motor is very happy at 2.5k rpm in 4th @60mph, and it's more than happy to take 5th gear and continue to easily maintain speed 2k rpms all while barely any pressure on the go pedal. Even in 5th on the hills, it wants to continue to pull with very light pedal. I can only imagine in states where 85 mph is appropriate, that 6th gear will be an easy cruise for this combo.

The really slow traffic that I've experienced so far has been a breeze, as it will happily idle in 1st gear at a snails crawl. The clutch is really comfortable and this transmission has to be the smoothest shifting manual I've ever driven, of the well over 15 manual trucks, and cars I've owned over the years.

For those that cannot or will not own/drive a manual, you are really missing out. IMO this motor and manual trans work really really well together, and a complete blast to drive. Can't wait to get it on the trails.

Many Auto drivers complain about the auto tranny up shifting as quick as possible and then immediately downshifting when pulling hills or attempting any sort of acceleration. I'm sure the reason for that is because 6th gear in an auto is 0.58 which combined with a 3.90 rear diff and stock tires leaves the engine at 1600rpm@65mph which really does not produce enough power accelerate or pull hills.

    By comparison, a 6-Speed manual with a 4.30 rear end and 0.71 in 6th gear produces 2200rpm@65mph

Did Toyota fix the terrible throttle delay, bog off the line in 1st and hesitation after upshifting and getting back into the throttle?

My '16 has all of that, which takes away from the driving experience. If you've got a unicorn, well all the power to ya!

I wouldn't say it bogs down but it feels like massive turbo lag. Until it hits 4,000 rpm's it's a dog and then jumps to life.

My only real complaint is the hesitation when it happens. It makes me question my driving, what's interesting is it comes in spurts, I'll go weeks with out it happening then it will happen a handful of times then won't happen again for a while.
