    Can someone link to a how to video or a thread on how to change the manual transmission oil for the 3.4?

    I haven't seen one, but this is an EASY process, that should be done when oil is warm and vehicle is level...
    - Open/remove the FILL plug (so you KNOW you'll be able to re-fill what you drain) and remove existing crush washer
    - Open/remove the DRAIN plug and remove existing crush washer
    - Allow oil to drain
    - Replace DRAIN plug, including new crush washer (P/N 90430-18008, ~$1.50/ea)
    - Using hand pump (e.g., Bottle Hand Pump), refill transmission with appropriate gear oil (e.g., Severe Gear 75W-90)
    -- I like the Amsoil products linked. You are, of course, free to use whatever pump and oil you prefer, though 75W-90 GL-4 gear oil is recommended
    - Stop filling when oil reaches fill hole
    - Replace FILL plug, including new crush washer (P/N 90430-18008, ~$1.50/ea)

    3 inch lift. bluetooth stereo. blue transparent skulls shift knobs
    a slight mod to Norton's instructions that I did. I only loosened the fill plug, i didn't remove it. that way when I removed the drain plug, the oil drain would be slow and it wouldn't all come out as fast as it could as though the fill plug was removed. it's honestly, along with the rear diff and the x-fer case if you have one, the easiest maintenance you can do right next to either topping off your coolant, or changing your headlights. just make sure you have the replacement gaskets on hand before you start.

    Ive never used new washers on any drive train component or the the oil pan, never had an issue myself...

    Well I bet I wouldn't have an issue wearing the same underwear for three days in a row either, but Ill still change them out each morning.

    I've reused washers for transfer case / transmission / differential fluid swap jobs multiple times. I just don't have any dealers very close to me and always forgot to order em. Never had an issue over a decade and 3 different Tacomas.

    Not saying it's recommended or couldn't cause problems but it's no biggie in a pinch.

    Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
    Yep, Amsoil Severe Gear or Redline MT-90 are the best gear oils imo, both make the tranny shift like butter.

    I just need one catastrophic leak seizing my transmission because I reused a crush washer and I'm sure I'd be changing them every time... Until that day happens I refuse to change

    Random question though, I had my clutch/flywheel replaced at the dealer and ever since my shifter stick spins around pretty easily. Before it wouldn't do that at all. Makes it especially annoying now when I'm trying to remove the shift knob... what gives?
