It's a misprint... there was a thread some 50+ pages deep about this a couple weeks back. Gearing is same in 17s as it was in 16s. AT gets 3.9 and MT gets 4.3 confirmed

I hope the 4.3 gears weren't a motivating factor in that trade.

Shifting into 2nd gear then into 1st gear should work when this happens. If you're stopped with the clutch engaged (transmission turning) shifting into 2nd then into 1st stops the transmission and lessens wear on the the 1st gear synchro and makes engaging 1st gear easier. All the synchros I've seen wear out were 1st gear but that was in the old days with gear lube that was nowhere near as good as modern synthetics.

What made you give up the 6 speed manual for a 2017 auto. I don't get it. You had top of lost money on the deal.

If I were buying a used truck a transmission replaced by the dealer with another factory transmission wouldn't bother me.

So dealership replaces tranny and then toyota refuses to extend warranty... That was red flag for me. BTW it costme $900 to go from 2016 m/t to 2017 a/t

Now if Toyota would have said "i'm sorry we had to replace your complete transmission, we apologize. We would like to offer you a 10y/100k warranty on the new tranny" that would have been a different story.

    But they offered nothing.

So a dealership tech replaces my full tranny and let's say he did something slightly wrong, then in 4 years it breaks. Then it's 100% my issue. Unfortunately i couldnt live with that "if"

Hi guys, I haven't been on this forum for a while. Was there a TSB done for the 2016 Manual OR DCSB's? Can someone please explain.

    Yes, TSB -0088-16.

It fixed my truck when I was having issues with it being stuck in gear.

Well, to be fair, if a dealer tech goofed up a tranny install bad enough to make it completely fail it wouldn't take anywhere near 4 years to happen. But it is your money (and honestly losing only $900 isn't bad at all, especially considering the MSRP alone for an auto is greater than $900) and if you are more comfortable in your newer truck that's what counts.
