Dude, awesome job! That is exactly what I want to do with mine, but I'm terrible at electrical and not really understanding exactly what you did. Can you elaborate please?

 

I really like the looks of the 6" lift. But then I couldn't get in my parking garage at work or my garage at home. It would probably guarantee my 5' wife never rode with me.

 

Okay, you need to go to an auto parts store and buy a realy like the one in the diagram. It's just a standard four prong relay. On the bottom of the relay, the posts will be numbered exactly like the one in the diagram.

You will also need to buy a three position switch. The red wire in the diagram that goes to the "auto" position on the switch. is coming from the factory revers light wire. This wire will become "hot" (it will show 12 volts on a volt meter, or it will light up a test light) ONLY when the Jeep is in reverse and your back up lights are on.

Next, you need to run a wire from the battery, thru a fuse, and then to the bottom position (ON) on your three place switch. You also need to run a separate fused wire from your battery to the #30 post on your relay.

Next, run a wire from the middle pole on your switch to the #86 post on your relay. Now, run a wire from a good solid ground (from the - post on your battery, or from your frame, or from your engine block) to the #85 post on the relay.

Now it's time to mount your lights. Mount them where ever you want to, and ground them to the frame. Run the power wire's to both lights (you can splice them together) to the #87 post on the relay.

Now you're done! And it should work. When you place the switch in the middle position, the lights are off and won't come on. Place the switch in the "auto" position and the lights should come on whenever you place the transmission in reverse. You can also place the switch in the "on" position and have them on whenever you want to.

Stay with a 3 inch lift. The 6 inch is pretty weak.

I have Skygear's fuse panel with relays. I'll have to see how to go about doing this with that configuration.

 

How come you did not buy Nathans NSA panel kit ?
