    I use Google Earth to learn and memorize and BackCountry Navigator in the field. The Ranger Station has some real bad ass maps; I believe Reckless got his from there and it's very in depth.

    I've got a CA Atlas as well that shows washes but doesn't go deep enough in the desert areas.

    i have tryed this.

    but i have seen people with a great maps with trails and washes. it was almost like a book.
