this is probably better for a separate thread, but i figure what the heck, i'll ask the locals. my new cap has a few things that i need to do..
    1. it's super dirty, anyone ever used a carwash sprayer on the interior of a cap that has the carpet lining? will it mess with the glue holding it on or is this OK for a one time thing?
    2. it's missing the clamps that mount into the rails- currently held on with C clamps, though it has four obvious tabs with small round holes where something threads through- any idea where the cheapest place to replace the rail mounts is? and i've heard ARE caps have plastic clamps- if so, are there metal replacements available, or are the plastic ones just fine?
    3. need to replace the handle (key is gone and it's stuck in unlocked, i've seen these online for around 20 bucks, just wanted to check that they're pretty much generic and that's an OK price
    4. the bottom (weatherstripping?) of the back glass is broken on one side- replacement? and it looks riveted in, anyone replaced this before? i was thinking drill out the rivet, replace with small stainless bolts w/ locktite
    5. there's a small strip of trim around the bottom edge that's coming off in two corners. cyanoacrylate(super glue?)

and finally, the plate reads "2005 Tacoma DC XS CX W/O" im guessing XS means short bed, CX means its a CX cap... what does W/O mean? it's without... something?

I know this is a long shot, but is anyone running 285/70r17 and looking to downsize to save MPGs? Trying to ditch these 265/70r17 ATs and would love to trade tires with someone.

If he didn't pull the supporting parts off of the truck I wouldn't pay more than 800 for it

Just figured I'd share here. Did the rear leaf tsb a few weeks ago. Went down to Waldorf Toyota to do it. Process was suuuuper pain free would definitely recommend anyone else who needs it done to go there. They also replaced my driver seat belt assy for a tsb and new downpipe/cat as well.

I would recommend calling Toyota first. That's what I did. The young lady I spoke to checked my vin and verified the tsb had not been complied with and went as far as contacting Waldorf Toyota to set up my appointment. I only had to speak with them to confirm the appointment and I was good to go.

I wish I could get some of the tsb's done. Would take care of a lot of outstanding issues that I don't have the time to take care of

Anyone have experience with Jim Coleman Toyota in Bethesda? I need to bring my truck in for 18 month service this month and was wondering if this dealer is trustworthy and nice

I don't trust any dealer. The dealer I bought my truck from extended the Toyota care to 3 years, they'll still never see my truck. EVery bit of service is done by me, that way I know it's done right.

Time and money and a garage. If I had any one out of those 3 then I would too, unfortunately life is what it is right now. And I have the extended Toyota care up to like 10 years or whatever the max is. My dealer in San Diego was awesome, it wasn't the one I bought the truck at but it was the closest one to my house. They fixed the low ATF that came with factory with no push-back and admit that it was low from factory and didn't mind moving my skid plates or anything

I took mine to Koon's in Westminster for 5000 mile and 355 Toyota for the 10,000 mile. Both were fine granted not much was done except tire rotation and oil change. Only thing I know about Jim Coleman is they are way overpriced on new vehicles. High rent district.

I was going 10k on my 2000 t4r with Mobil one. Never had an issue and oil came out brown like the day after it was put in. I plan on going off the built in timer with the Tacoma. Just because I'm not a fan of the check engine light. Even though my last three cars had the perma check engine light mod. Haha

Edit: check engine light on t4r, Subaru, and Prius were for O2 sensor

Changed the oil on my 2016 Tacoma at 1000 miles, sold it before I hit the 5000 mile mark lol. Changed the oil on my 2016 4Runner at 2,000 miles, it'll get changed again at 5,000 miles and every 5,000 miles after that. OEM Toyota synthetic and Toyota filter.
