Wow Steve....we're just learning more and more about you each day.

And stockers FTW (for now) Lol. Stock doesn't mean shit with a decent set of tires. I've seen stock go through some nasty shit.

Talk to Chip. He has the stock truck that will wheel with the best of us. Stock is a state of mind. haha

I've got a set of the stock Bridgestone Dueller HT. They suck. Haha it's a P rated highway "all-season" tire that spins and slides if rain is even in the forecast. I'm honestly a little worried about the snow and ice but can't really afford a new set of tires anytime soon. There is virtually no siping at all.

They're also only 3 months/11k miles old and are already turning that gross brown color. I've read a lot of reviews of premature dry-rot with these ones.

Get some 'real' winter tires, they will help keep your pretty new truck out of the ditch/trees/traffic/etc

Yea I'm at 10893 right now. I guess you could say that I drive a lot for work.. Last month I drove 1529 miles while on the clock. lol I've done a few personal trips to SW VA and NC to visit the gf too though. The four of them equal about 3-3.5k alone.

On the bright side though I get paid $0.565 per mile and with the stock setup I'm spending about $0.17 per mile in gas.

    With the V6 (5spd AUTO):
1st tops out about 30mph, 2nd around 55-60mph, 3rd about 70-75mph, 4th tops at 115. So if you are engine braking from a 70mph roll, go fro drive into fourth(while gently applying breaks), then to third at about 55, then to second at about 40....this is how i get off the interstate without burning up my brakes (when i'm going to fast). Keep in mind, my truck has almost 34,000 moles on it and it still has a little over a third of the pad life left on the front discs.

If i am coming down the mountains i'll usually go down to third in the speed trap areas were it goes from 65, 55, then to 40mph. And when you need to accelorate, you put it back in drive.

Your truck will down shift on its own when the brakes are applied. Depending on how fast you are going and how much pressure you've used on the brakes, it'll go down to 2nd (usually doesn't go lower than 3rd to save fuel).

When i have to merge on to the interstate in heavy fast traffic, i'll start in 2nd gear and shift up as i reach about 4,000 rpm. You have to get a feel for it. What ever you do, do not down shift to a lower gear when you are going to fast to so so, you'll blow your shit clear up. ex: don't go to first when above 30mph, don't go to second when above 55mph, don't go to third when above 70mph.

Engine braking with an auto is a dream but you have to know your speed and watch your tach. When i was learning it all, there were a couple times i kicked it down into second on a back road (25-35mph) and ran the engine up to redline with out noticing until the limiter screamed about 5200rpm (+60mph in second). And when you hit that limiter while accelorating, you have to let iff the gas and feather it a little but while shifting to third to get it to change gear. Don't pound yor grucks guys. Just learn them responsibly....and not in traffic.
Also, i live up on a hill with a 25mph speed limit, every morning i come down it in first to save my brakes....don't hve to touch the pedals untill i wt about 20ft from the stop sign at the bottom of the hill. It is also safer that way because the truck won't get away from me and i won't be over heating and warping my rotors from going to fast and using to much brake pedal.

Anything i've left out or miss interpreted, just let me know.

It's not as awesome as it sounds. haha I'm still spending on average about $300-400 in gas every month and I'll be lucky if I can make my 125,000/6 year extended warranty even last 5 years. lol im gonna be going through 30k maintenance every year and a half or so.

Haha I know I drive too much, but I think that's just abnormally low for a year and a half..

I have a love/hate relationship with my warranty. I like it because if something fucks up I can get it replaced for free (for the most part), but that shit is expensive and I'm poor. Lol and with my luck everything will break as soon as it's up.
