Is anyone here familiar with remote start units on a 2012? I purchased a Certified Pre Owned 2012 TRD and the remote start worked fine until I went hunting last week. I crossed over a log and the box up under the dash fell down to the pedal area and the unit stopped working. I looked at the box and all of the wires seem to be plugged in correctly. I called the dealer to find out where the unit was originally installed and all they could tell me was that it was installed at Best Buy.

Since I don't have the receipt, Best Buy is useless and doesn't want to troubleshoot the unit. It is an Avital unit.

I have a similar system by the same company on my 08. Make sure the connections are secure to the "box that fell from the dash" and open said box to make sure that the key is lined up in it properly (if it is a key bypass style like mine). Also make sure that the reciever on the window (probably above the rear view mirror) is pugged in properly. Good luck, it took me about a year of pulling the dash apart and playing with things until i figured out how to make mine function again. You'll be fine.

You wouldn't believe how useful, enjoyable, fun, awesome, entertaining, etc. it is to have remote start. It is ridiculous....i love starting mine in the mornings before i leave and starting it any time it is stone cold. It seriously is awesome....i'd have one every one of my daily drivers for the rest of my life.

Hell yeah. My set of firestone destination AT P245/75R16 were about that much on the truck and out the door, give or take a few dollars and a $50 rebate. You did alright....those should last you more than a few seasons if you're only going to use them for winter.

I am also out of the provisional license period....so i'm on full license but i won't get a horizontal license until 21.

When on provisional, any violations reset your time until the provisional is over. So if you are 1 day from getting off your provisional license and you get a ticket, they'll reset you back to day one of provisional.
