Guess it's time to do some spring maintenance. What else isn't in that book that is suppose to be done at 50k or under.

 

I do.

 

Shocks don't show up either but I've heard 50k for shocks

 

Also with wheeling and everything what else is recommended to change out earlier then normal?

 

Plugs at 120K.

Manual transmission fluid and rear diff fluid every 30K.

Engine oil every 5K.

Air filter every 15K.

Cabin filter as needed. Same with brakes.

There really is not a lot of heavy maintenance with the 2,7L engine.

I had a link to the service intervals for the 2,7 but now I cannot find it. Old age setting in.

 

Thanks. I'm gonna have to check my throttle body too maybe it's getting stuck?

 

So far no issues for me at 60K. I throw in a bottle of Red Line fuel system cleaner every oil change.

 

I use seafoam and/or Lucas fuel injector cleaner every oil change or so. Still need to do plugs and driveline but they are getting done before the end of may. My brakes will be done this week; the stock stuff only lasted 36,250 and they are pretty weak....

 

I took mine to the dealership so far... I'm going to start bringing Lucas with me and tell them to mix it. I only have three more services with them

 

Guess I should start getting my hands dirty this spring lol

 

Is the Lucas product added to the gas tank? Do you like it?

I have used Seafoam in the past on a different vehicle, it worked well but a lot of smoke. I did a direct injection method into the throttle body to clean the valves as well.

If you do not have a garage you are more than welcome to come on over one day. I live in Bowie about 40 miles away from you.

 

It will depend on how much you put your truck through. I use my truck for hunting and camping all year, so it sees a lot of dust/mud/rocks. This is just what I do:

At 5k intervals I check/change:
Engine Oil
Cabin Air Filter
Engine Air Filter

I do these every 30k:
Gear Oils (both diffs, t-case)
Clean Throttle Body and MAF sensor.

And these every 60k:
Spark Plugs
Engine Coolant
Transmission Fluid

Things I just check periodically:
Brakes and Fluid
Power Steering
Propeller shaft bolt torque
Ball joints, dust covers, boots

Anything Toyota or dealer says lasts "forever" should probably be serviced at 60k-100k...

All of these can easily be done at home. ATF and gear oils are really the only expensive ones because of the cost of fluids.

 

You must be hard on your brakes

 

Lucas Fuel injector cleaner goes in the gas tank yes. It works fine.

I've only ever put seafoam in the gas tank so the smoke deal hasn't really happened to me. Other than when i've run it through carbureted motorcycles.

 

The first 24,910 miles were not by me. I got the truck with only about 1/3 pad life left
