I ordered a new rear driveshaft yesterday from Driveshaft Pro's in San Diego, CA. They were the only shop that I found that had the parts in stock to build the DS. They got it built yesterday and it will ship this morning, so I should have it by Friday. I couldn't believe that there wasn't a single place in the mid-atlantic area that didn't have the parts to build one. If this fixes the last issues with the 'runner, I will be packing it up and leaving for the Alpine Loop and Black Bear Pass on Monday.

 

Hey all, silly question incoming since I haven't replaced my tires yet -

I know they look like it, but are these actually split-rim wheels? Or is that just the aesthetic?

 

This picture confuses me because it looks like those are XD Series wheels with KMC Wheels outer ring. So maybe they do split apart?

I think KMC makes the XD wheels. They're probably just a faux beadlock though

Man, great job finding that! I looked through everything I could find re: KD and KMC but couldn't find my wheels. I was hoping to replace tires myself this fall, but it looks like I'll have to have a shop do it

 

For those who are connoisseurs of fine hardware. I had hoped to get one more year out of the current machine. It is not to be. I'm leaking so much oil the EPA has me listed below the Deepwater Horizon but above the Exxon Valdez.

Where was it leaking from? And what are you doing with the old one, just curiously?

Its leaking from the main seal on the bottom of the engine. Its a 24 HP V twin Briggs. Stop leak didn't help. The transmission also needs a rebuild. I think its the pump. I replaced the fluid twice this season, helped a little. After the new machine arrives and I get it running, the old one is free to a good home. No delivery, pick up only.

 

Can anyone describe how to bleed the front brakes on a 3rd Gen?
