GM MD! Don't know that one... but there's a LOT of new faces around the last few years

 

I've had these wheels since early spring, wanting them for when I do the Tundra "big brake" upgrade to the 4runner. In July I found someone selling Jerp wheel/tire take offs for really cheap, the 245/75/17 tires are the 17" equivalent to the 265/75/16 on the 4runner right now. I was going to use them for the trip to CO but decided to just run the Hankooks that are already on the 'runner, and they did absolutely fine.

I decided to see how the Taco liked them, it didn't do well when I tried the wheels/tires from the 4runner. The Taco does ok with this setup, I think that being a 245 helps out. I didn't see the big drop in MPG from these tires compared to the hit that I saw when I was running the 265 Hankooks from the 4runner.



These will definitely go on the 4runner, but until I sell the Taco I will just run them. The beauty of this size is that there is no shortage of people selling these when they have to have mall-crawler spec'd tires/wheels for their wranglers. In all honesty, these tires seem to be a pretty good all season/AT tire. Not too noisy on the road, they grip well in the rain and dirt roads that I've been on. Big improvement over the Hankook HT's that I was running on the Taco.

I did not I ran out of time before I had to go out for dinner. I think I might wait for my UCAs to come in before doing it again so I can put them on at the same time

Basically if covered, you get your frame inspected and coated now and if you do that, Toyota covers a 12 year frame replacement warranty if it starts to rust out prematurely.

 

I wanna say a big thanks to @Tonymontana for driving to Odenton yesterday to pick up 2 chairs then delivering them to my cabin for me. It's funny because Tony met the seller which turned out was also a fellow TW member.
