I know the DCLB trucks can go where the shorter trucks go, but we have to armor up to avoid huge amounts of body damage... and to top it off our armor costs more as we have more area we have to cover, and some vendors dont even make armor for us. Ive actually been regretting buying such a long truck as of late.

Perfect. As long as its not a holiday weekend, I should be able to make it. My weekends just fill up quick unfortunately with work and travelling to visit my girlfriend and her family so I just need to schedule in advance. haha

In other news, I'm still waiting on my HD 3-leaf progressive AAL from Wheelers, and the rear 5100's. I'm thinking I may just go ahead and add on the front lift and buy it all at once instead of spread it out.. I was going to wait and buy the front later, but I'm not sure I'm going to want to drive long with 3+ inches of rake. haha Do any of you have 5100's, and if so what springs are you using? I'd rather not use the stock coils, and am torn between the Eibach's or OME 885x's. From what I'm reading, 885's with the 5100's set to 0 should give me about 2-2.5" which is exactly what I'm looking for, but I don't know if a 620# spring will be too much. Eibachs are also cheaper, but would require preloading a little to get the same lift. Not sure what to do  I think i'm leaning towards the 885's though.. trying to find a cheap(ish) used set somewhere haha

I know, I didn't decide until yesterday. :( I was mad too because I saw your post last week and thought about it and decided I couldn't afford it.. I thought about it again though and it's not horribly expensive and this way i'll only have sto pay shipping once lol I'm also just getting anxious.

You wanna get them back from whoever you sold them to and give them to me?

Well, just spoke with Dan and my order has been updated to include front 5100's with a set of new bushing/washers and OME 885's. Now I just need everything delivered and new tires and I'll be all set! :woot:

Now time to decide on which tires. still torn between Hankook DynaPro ATM's and Nitto Terra Grapplers.

Anyone know how much lift you need to fit 33's? I know with the stock rims I would need the 1.5" spacers and I'd need to trim some plastic (both of which i'm fine with), but since after my lift settles some i'll be closer to 2-2.5" instead of 3" lift I didn't know if it'd be a problem. Trying to figure out if I should just step up to the 265/70/17 or if I could fit 265/75/17 with that setup.

265/70 is a stock tire size, and you can go up to 265/75 with no rubbing whatsoever. 285/75 is the next common size up where you would need to trim some plastic.

17" changes some things...are you staying with 17" or going to a 16"?

shouldnt, the rim width might but not the diameter. also IIRC the TRD sport rims are 17's and they run 265/70 from the factory

for the 17" sport wheels the stock size is 265/65/17 which is roughly a 31. 265/70 is the biggest that can fit on stock suspension and is roughly a 32 ;) I thought about going to 285's but wasn't sure if they would be too wide for the stock rim? 285/70/17 is roughly a 33 i think (if i did my math right..)

staying with the 17" stock ones. Dont really want to spend the money on some 16" at the moment lol

edit: i think a 285 would rub my cab mount and i dont really wnat to chop it.. looks like i'm either sticking with the 32" or finding cheap 16" wheels somewhere and getting 255/85/16. apparently 265/75 doesn't exist lol

Yea that's what I'm thinking now. I didn't see them on tire rack but it may have just been the brand I was looking at. I'll keep looking around an see if I could find some.

In the long run it's not a huge difference, but the extra 1" could come in handy and it'll just look better and fill out the wheel well a little more.

    Correct

Some places in the country the trucks come with a 265/70 some a 265/65 my truvk came with a 245/65 and the v6 i looked at hade 265/70s

Your best bet if you don't want to chop the cab mount is to go 255/85/16... Ill have some steelies for sale next month if you want to buy them... 150$ for 4 and youll just have to find a 5th steelie... Ill be going to a 35 for my next tire now that I have my ship date for the Coast Guard I plan on having my lift by the time I get home from basic... Or the day I return when I order it

Good news everybody! My truck isn't totaled. It has a little over $7600 of damages not including the HID and light bar to be replaced by me through USAA. They are changing out almost the whole front end and even the steering wheel. Should be done Oct 6th.
