Here's post 18 from that thread:
If you just read that, you'd never know it was a suspension thread... Talk about things that can be taken out of context!

We ended up greasing his Uca's . And the clunk was coming from the sheet metal rotor shield . When he got the alignment done they must of bent it. We bent it back. Seemed to take of it . But I'm sure he will chime in to tell us if he still has it or not .

That's weird - the alignment shop bent mine in too, but I fixed it while doing my brakes. Mine didn't really make a clunk, sounded more like the metal squealer on an old brake pad.

Same here, only made a sound when I turned left. I found an open lot and had someone walk next to the truck to figure out what it was. That was the 3rd heat shield that came loose or got bent on my Tacoma. Also, no clunk, sounded like a grinding noise on mine.

That's what we did . Empty lot .it was only when he turned hard left or hit a bump . It was more a metal on metal then a clunk .

Glad you guys got it figured out and shame on Toyota for not taking the 5 minutes it would have taken to diagnose the noise!

Yeah I thought we got it too. I think its coming from the front in the middle somewhere now.. No the sheld thing near the brakes. Oh well I guess i'll live with it.
