In the picture in the driveway, the truck is at a much higher ride height than in the dirt pit.

    Mother of God...

Please take your truck to a shop and have the frame inspected for cracks a stock set of arms put back on. If you have to ask this question I don't want you on public roads with anything you've had any part in the modification of.

    Either

    1. your frame is bent causing the inner mounts for the upper arm to be shifted inward (very likely).

    Or

    2. You "extended" your upper arms less than the lowers due to using a freaking tape measure and no jigs in the "fabrication" of the arms. (less likely since you said it was fine when you first installed the "kit").

I can see making things for your truck while improving your welding skills ie. bed bar skids maybe bumpers But Suspension? Not a wise idea. Should have started from scratch not the cheesy stock suspension. reminds me of people running leafs and coil springs in the rear... bad news

Clip the tire? Minimal damage for you, op on the other hand is fubar.

I am sorry OP, I am glad that you are proud of you truck, but you just put yourself and others at risk. If the poorly constructed suspension components give out, you are going to loose control and possibly injure or kill yourself. Your best off grabbing all the stock components from a junkyard and putting them back on.

Once you have a reliable vehicle again, take it slow and professionally. If you can't afford the right stuff, makeshift parts aren't the answer.

Thanks for the information. I had not looked at it from a standpoint of strength over bushing option.

Maybe I am missing something but looking at the inward mounting points of upper or lower control arms, I still don't see how a heim joint has anything to do with adjustability. Perhaps can you provide photos? I'm not trolling, I swear. I am just unable to see it in my head where a heim joint would allow adjustability that a standard joint wouldn't, and I was an alignment tech for 4 years.

What do you mean by standard joint?

A heim is threaded into the arm so you can unbolt the arm from the inner frame mount and spin the joint in or out.

I think he means Santa Clarita, CA not South Carolina.

OP, last time I saw cold rolled 3/16 was never. Hot rolled or chromoly.

Since you're a suspension expert a camber issue shouldn't be hard for you to figure out.

Camber in a nutshell; move the UCA outward or inward to adjust +/- camber.
