Ok, I have a few questions about tire sizes on my 08 4x4 base Taco.

    1. What's the max tire size I could fit on my truck without a lift? 265? It came with 245s.

    2. Are 33" tires going to rub on a 2.5" lift? Is the rubbing so bad that it will wear out your tires prematurely and require removal of the mud flaps? Would a 3" lift correct this, or would the tires still rub on the inside?

    3. A 3" lift requires longer A-arms? (why does everybody want to spend $500+ on new A-arms just to get 33" tires anyway? Seems like cheaper 32"+/- tires that don't rub or require a-arms would be the easiest way to go?)

    4. New suspension lifts sag over time right? So a 3" new lift might drop to 2.75" after it's broken in? So does that mean that 33" tires would rub anyway?

    5. Would a wheel spacers eliminate all rubbing from 33" tires on a 2.5" lift?

OK I Know that's a lot of questions so just try to answer what you can, I'd appreciate some insight from you guys. I'm thinking about getting an OME Lift and just want to be sure about a few things before I dive into it, thanks people!

    1. 265/75/16 are the biggest you can fit.
---Search is helpful. Plus there is a sticky for this in the wheels and tire section
    2. 31's won't rub with that lift as long as you don't do something funky.
---Your truck should have come with 31's stock
    3. With a 3in lift you can fit 33's with minor trimming
    ---Again search is very helpful
    4. Yes it might sag slightly, but everyone is different. Some people buy a 3in lift and get 2.5 out of it others get 3.25 just depends.
    5. You don't need spacers for 31's. You need them for 33's maybe depends on what rims you have and their backspacing.

    2. 33's will rub with that lift and will require some trimming (some have to trim the cab mount).
    3. With a 3in lift you can fit 33's with minor trimming you don't have to have UCA's but that will allow you to get your alignment in spec. Also I know Some have had their tire rub on the UCA.
    ---Again search is very helpful
    4. Yes it might sag slightly, but everyone is different. Some people buy a 3in lift and get 2.5 out of it others get 3.25 just depends. You might just have to trim again.
    5. You need them for 33's sometimes depends on what rims you have and their backspacing.

Thanks again, I've been researching these things for a few weeks now, just wanted to clear up any misconceptions.

i've been asking the same kind of things lately myself. i have 265/75/16's and got a 2.5" front spacer a few weeks ago and plan to get either a block or AAL for the back soon to clear 285/75/16's. of course that may require some trimming, but i hope that the wheel spacers will eliminate the need for trimming

Yeah I dont want to have to trim anything if I up the tires to 285s, but more than anything I want to keep the mudflaps on there... they are there for a reason. I think I'd be happy with smaller tires if it meant keeping the mudflaps and retaining the factory a-arm/proper alignment.

I am going to level my truck, probably ither Billstein 5100 or OME I would like to do the full ome lift but I don't think it's going to be in the budget, so my question is with just the front brought up 2.5" will I be able to run a 275/65/18 with no issues?
