I’m in the east bay too but you’ll be fine. The northbay is taking the worst damage. There are two more storms on Saturday and Monday so just a heads up.

My intake has a special filter can to allow it to still run with a wet filter. Also uses a bell jar intake in the passenger fender.

There are pockets... It will be way better tomorrow. But there is standing water here and there... downed trees etc. But they are getting to them pretty quick.

Seems like a rich man's game to even submerge the frame. I'll take my beater through the water but not a new truck

Problem is if you don't know what you are driving into. If you can walk it with a stick first, or see someone else proceed safely, that's one thing. Even over normal paved surfaces holes can open or be much deeper than you guessed

    Otherwise hold your breath.

It's also water speed. You can have good traction but currents you cant see from the surface are most dangerous. Moving water is most dangerous.

A couple of Costco sized bags of rice should get you to the other side safely.

    I saw on KRON4.

I'm thinking that I'll just stay in the area until Sunday before heading back down. Good reason for a short vacation.

    Neither was I

It just turned out that the last and smallest of all the standing water we crossed that day was also the deepest with no apparent warnings. Just listen the advice from others here and don’t be stupid like me.

Depends on whether you’re a YouTube influencer. If so, the deeper the better for a good shot and lots of hits.

Personally, I’ve found water tends to wreck stuff, so I’d recommend finding a way around.
