How are your suspension angles with the 5100s and 885s. I'm about to throw on the expo pack and was wondering what id need to do in addition to the max's to level the front out.

I assume the expo makes it ass high?

I actually have a very slight bro-lean going on. I have my camper shell, full size spare, tools, hi-lift, etc in the bed, so the expos are actually giving me about 3-3.5" of lift. I also have a yakima rack I throw on top of the shell for my spare and other gear when I go camping. I definately am pushing the weight on the expos. The 5100's at 0 + the 885's gave me 2.5" on the 4" maxtracs, so, i am sitting high up front. That's why I'm gonna get new fox's up front and not crank any lift on them. Hopefully that will level me out. The bro-lean is not too exagerated, so, it's not too bad, though.
So, you have the 5100/885's too?

Yeah I have 5100s and 885s. I put back the stock TRD coils when I installed the maxtracs. I picked up a pair of used expos and was reading with no weight they yield about 4" in the rear. Only thing I have in the rear is an undercover tonneau. I plan on throwing some sandbags to smooth out the ride if it's that bad. I'm debating trading my 885s for 884s or eibachs but then got to thinking I might need to put the 885s back on to level the front with the rear. I was hoping someone could chime in who had expos in the rear and maxs up front on what they did to level out.

I know I'll level out when i take off the 885's, because they are stacking another 2.5-3" on the maxtracs.
I bet you will be level with your stock stuff and the expos. Just in case, keep the 885's. Your double cab weight might keep you from having the bro lean if you do throw the 885's back on.
Are your 5100's at the 0 setting, too?

Yeah currently 5100s at 0 with the TRD coils in the front
AAL + 1"block in the rear now and the back is slightly higher

I have someone local that will swap his 884s for my 5s if I need to raise the front a bit

    WeatherTech rubber mats,
Question. Will a spindle lift cause my steering wheel to shake at higher speeds. Reason why I ask is I met a guy who had spindles on his pre runner and it looked great but he said it shakes when he goes 55mph or higher. I am not sure if that is because a mistake in installing or it happens to all trucks.

Second question: is there a 3" spindle lift currently being made??

1: the reason the person most likely had steering wheel shakes are either from a bad alignment/balance, or the fact that his rims are missing the "hub centric ring" to not have the shakes.

2: from what we know maxtrac makes the smallest spindle lift.

CST makes a high quality product; I ran their lift on my Silverado for years with no issue. However, you're looking at spending $1100+ on a 3.5" spindle when you can buy a 4" Maxtrac spindle for ~$500. Right now, Headstrong Off-road is having a pretty awesome sale, so I'd talk to those folks. Outstanding customer service as well. :)

Worried about the quality of a spindle that you've perhaps never heard of before? That's fine, so was I at first. There is a thread dedicated to the Maxtrac spindles that basically answers every question and every permutation of every question you can think of. One guy even wrecked his Tacoma at 70mph I think, doing some hefty damage to it, and his Maxtracs spindles remained unscathed. That convinced me they're a damn good product.

So if you decide to go with CST, that's up to you. You're going to spend a lot of money paying quality AND a name. But equal if not better quality can be found by going with Maxtracs and you save a hell of a lot of money in the process.

If all you want is a lifted Tacoma using the stock shocks and whatnot, again, check out Headstrong. They have bare-bone Maxtrac 4" spindles +blocks and u-bolts for cheap as fuuu and other Maxtrac spindle lift bundles that include new great quality shocks and rear leaf springs for about the same price you'd pay for just the CST spindles alone. In fact, you can see Airdog's Tacoma on their website when he had the same setup. His build is pretty phenomenal if you care to check it out.

I'm no shill for Headstrong, but they're the go-to vendor it seems for Maxtracs and like I said their customer service is outstanding.

    Hope this helps.

Sounds awesome it's gonna look sick! I noticed you have the pro comp 7036. What's the backspacing on those? They may not fit.... for 16 inch wheels it needs to be at least 5.0 and for 17 at least 4.75

I'm sure you're referring to my truck which if I have met you awesome. If not my shakes are not from my spindles it is from some demon from the 10 gate of hell that no one can figure out. However I did finally find some loose bolts up top on the uca that may or may not be causing my issue. Last night after the drive I was so pissed that I don't know if my brain is wanting me to think it's fixed so I will stop stressing or if it really did fix it. Either way only time will tell and I won't know that until later today
