    I want the maxtrac spindles and bilstein but I went to the shop that would install it and they told me that the bilstein wouldn't work with a spindle lift because the bilsteins are designed for stock ride height but obviously everyone here does it? what do I tell these people? is there a reason they told me that?

    Are they talking about a different model of Bilstein? The 5100's aren't designed for stock height? why would they have different settings?
    If they are talking about 5100's not working with spindles you can show them this pic & tell them they're idiot's & don't know what they're talking about.

    Holy cow i just wasted a full days work on this thread... lol

    Not sure if this got covered but i have a leveling kit up front (2.5 or 3" i think) Will the 4" Spindles install and ride ok if i leave the leveling kit on? Will be retaining the stock coil overs and shocks.

    Haven't decided what to do on rear yet. Either Expo Leaf Pack or add a leaf with block? Thoughts? Price Difference?

    Yea they said 5100's and it threw me off so I told them I would go home and double check that. I'm going back thursday and show them this. BTW how do you like the ride on the highway? Is it smooth?

    I like the ride, I think it rides good. It can be a little bit stiff at times cause the spring is compressed some but for the most part I'd say it's pretty smooth.

    Ok Thanks. I was looking at the Allpro Expo Leaf pack for the rear. Its supposed to give you 3" + 1" when not carrying a load. On their site it said the 5100 Bilsteins will not fit with their 3" Springs?

    I thought i had read a few people going with 5100 all around, is there a different model i need to look at for rear?

    No problem. I've got the expos & a 1.5" block with 5100's & Nammer has the standards & a 2" block with 5100's.
    We both have model BE5-B110-T5 for a 4"-5" lift. I didn't see where it says 5100's won't work.

    The only reason I can think of why they told you this is because bilstein does make a longer 5100 that is used on the rcd 4.5 db lift kit. That particular shock won't work on the spindle lift but on any db lift as I ran them on my truck when I had it. The stock length ones that everyone is running with the 4 settings most def will work with the spindles. I would probably stay clear of that shop.

    Yea i think i am. Its suprising because they are a very reputable shop in my area but anyhow what coil springs are most people running with there bilstein?

    Guys, you can run whatever shock you want to up front, these spindles basically change the geometry of the placement of your wheel on the suspension, in no way really effecting the shocks. If you run shocks with preload, you're going to gain more lift, but also change how your truck performs, as with any type of preload. So don't be afraid to rock oem shocks with these spindles or throw good coilovers on there, your lift will remain the same (not counting preload or coil length/#).

    so i was doing a little resersh on the spindels seen some people haveing problems with the rotor hitting is tha true or not

    Oh i was looking at the standard 5100's. I found the Extended version that you specified up there thanks.

    I think i'm in good shape now to order only other question i had was bump stops for rear. Use stock or order?

    Hopefully i won't need the drivetrain spacers/extenders like some have mentioned above. I guess will have to see once its installed.

    In the same boat, haha. I've been drooling over the trucks in this thread for months now. I have the money for the basic spindle lift and blocks but still need money for tires/rims.

    I'm currently in school so can't really make any money til summertime, so until then I'm just gonna imagine my truck on spindles:D
