Maxtrac Spindle Lift for 2nd Gen Prerunners

Is it recommended to get a drive shaft spacer when lifting by spindles?

 

Thanks for the info. What size spacer do you think i will need ? Also do I need a cb bracket as well? Thanks in advance for your input

 

It's recommend with any lift, the drive shaft coming out of the tranny is not a good thing & causes vibes. It's not the spindles that cause this, it's the rear end getting pushed down that pulls the drive shaft out.

Looks like an inch, measure from the edge of the silver part to the edge of the black & that how much spacer you need. The black is supposed to be flush with the silver. The cb drop is hit or miss, it helps some people get rid of vibes & some experience no difference. In my mind it doesn't hurt to keep your drive shafts in line & not at extreme angles, less stress on the bearing.

 

You shouldn't need anything done to your driveshaft if you're just lifting the front, but if you do an equal lift all the way around, then yes, you'll need a driveshaft spacer

 

What he said. I think most people end up usually using a 1" spacer unless they've got some ridiculous 6"+ lift. I don't know much about CV drops, never really researched that at all.

Oh just to make sure im ordering the correct spacer. Its 65mm x 65mm 1" spacer? Im I correct?

 

I have a maxtrac spindles and bilstein 5100s, wanting to go up in lift.. Would you guys recommend going to 7" lift with a 3" leving kit or to raise the bilsteins to 2.5" and be a 6.5 inches? I'm getting 33s and 20x12s

Theres 2 different sizes 65 & 66. It says to measure your bolts to be sure but if your not sure you can use the 65 on both.

It won't cost you anything if you raise the 5100's to 2.5. You shouldn't need to be at 6.5" or 7" to clear 33's. You should be able to clear at 1.75, I did when I had 285's.

Yeah that makes sense. Just keep in mind I'm at 6.25 with 17X9's & my 35's rub occasionally.

 

Inches to mm chart, question was posed at 66mm being correct, 1" = 25.400mm

2 5/8ths Inch = 66.700mm

If I have a 3.5" lift in the rear what carrier bearing spacer or driveshaft spacer do I need?
