haha thanks lol, it was taken with a Nikon D3300 and my 18-55mm lens before it fell over and broke the telescoping part of the lens. I think the shutter was set to 30 seconds for that particular photo. I also have a 55-200mm kit lens and a new Nikkor 35mm Prime lens. In total its worth about $1200, I paid $650 for the camera bundle that came with the body, 2 lenses, and a bag. I bought the 35mm lens when my 18-55mm lens broke lol.

Bought some Walker Evans 2.5 coilovers and rear shocks so I will be lowering my truck soon. Can't wait to take that ugly block off of the rear. Also gonna make the 285's look a little bigger. Hoping to put it somewhere around 5.5-6" of lift

 

Got the maxtrac installed last week. Love the look and the ride. Lifted the back with AAL and a 1.5 block. 2007 manual with 285/75/16 BFG KO2's

 

I think i have a set of stock ones in the back if you need em

Alot of y'all have 35s, do you guys plan to regear?

 

I'm not planning on it, its not a hot rod but it still has decent power & I'm still getting decent mpg's.

 

What is "decent"? I mean, average. I feel like my truck gets bitchin mpg with my little sissy 265/70's and don't want to ruin that with adult sized tires.

 

Oh you'll lose a little, I've lost like 2-3 mpg. On a recent trip one way was 18 & on the way back I got 20, that's running 70 mph that's all highway.
During the week I'd say I do 50/50 highway/city & I get around mid 17's.

 

I'm getting about the same, but mostly city driving. Hmmmm...

 

I drive 210 miles just to work during the week & usually have just over a quarter tank left. On that recent trip I went about 250 miles in the same amount.

 

Could you pull a trailer with some weight without feeling like a turtle?

 

I don't tow very often but I've pulled a loaded dump trailer with no problems.

 

I plan on regearing, I did notice a little power loss while offroading. I surprisingly went up in mpgs instead of down with these tires. my old 265s really had something wrong with them

 

I think it has to do with the weight vs rpms. So a tire a little heavier but turns 150 rpm less could actually get better mph. Or it could be too heavy and the rpm drop won't make up for the added resistance. Now a heavier tire the same size should always be worse on mpg.

 

I lost about 8-10 mpg and I don't have much top end in 5th anymore so I'll be doing a regear when I get the chance

 

I'm sure it's somewhere in the previous 300+ pages of posts, but how many of you guys regeared to 4.88 on the 2gen and running 35 or 37" tires?

I'm waiting on my shipment from east coast gear supply now, and decided to go with 4.88 gears. I tow about 6,000lbs daily so figured this to be a good upgrade, especially since I tow off-road and up inclines a lot.

I'm actually considering going to 37" tires, but will see how I feel with 35" first.

Any opinions from you guys running one of the above setups? I have a 2012 double cab long bed 4x4.

And curious about stock axle strength a little, especially if I go with 37" tires.
