    Huge Maxtracs fan..!

Wondering if anyone's had any experience or able to speak to a comparison of Maxtracs vs. Quality Suspension Advantage? I'd notice it pop at the bottom of the forum feed, so I decided to look.

They seen to be a valid competitor. Also at a price point $95.00 less (which inherently doesn't make them better or worse), but, $400.00 including freight seems pretty interesting.

personally, I wouldnt trust them, they are just a knock off of Maxtrac spindles. to me, that means they are made with lower quality materials and arent going to be as stout as Maxtracs are. TBH....its only a $95 difference, Maxtracs are $495 shipped...and that way, you KNOW you are getting a great product that holds up to what you expect them to. I really wouldnt trust those at the bottom

Spindles , Bilstein 5100s set @ .85, eibach coils, rear 4 inch block. FJ steel wheels, 285/75/17 g2s
I also somehow got 5 inches out of my new set up. Before spindles I had billies @.85 and the same springs that are on my set up now and I was sitting at 23 inches hub to fender and 22.5 in rear. So my measures were to simply add a 4 inch block to rear to make it 26.5 and spindles to front for a 27 inch front. The rear measurements are spot on and are currently at 26.5. However my front is at 28 inches. Trying to figure out how I have 5 inches of lift from a 4 inch spindle? Could it be bevause the new 5100s are so new??

That's why you're getting 5" then. 4 from the spindles & almost an inch from the 5100's. Also keep in mind the struts will settle some. When originally lifted mine the front measured the same as the rear, after a while it settled about 3/4".

For everyone who has installed their spindles by themselves. How long of an install would you say it took?

I think the last one we did took like 4 hrs but that included some BSing & the rear lift.

Right on. Yeah, hopefully it won't be seized up when I get around to it!

Sounds good. No rear lift for me and hopefully there will be no distractions haha.

Invest in the pb blaster now. Start spraying your stuff every couple weeks. Everybody complains about brake lines etc. I'm rolling 2007 never been touched I sprayed my stuff in advance about 3-4 times before getting to some of it. BUTTER

    Working on it now....UNDER CONSTRUCTION
The install took me 2 days taking my time to make sure I did it correctly. I did the spindles, coilovers, brake lines, Dakar leaf springs, and rear shocks. We also cleaned all parts thoroughly, greased and assembled. All torque values were checked during and after complete assembly. This also doesn't account for the time to clean spindles with alcohol, tape, and clear coat them.

I would imagine if you were just doing the spindles the first time it would be less than a full day.

So new 5100s get an inch lift out of the box? Before I lifted my truck I had coils and billies at .85. So for my calculations I figured I would just add 4 inches for the spindles. It has to be the new shocks

Did you set the new ones at .85? If so that's your extra inch. If you set them at 0 then it probably just needs time to settle because you took everything apart & it had a chance to somewhat stretch out.
As I said before I just adjusted mine all the way up a couple weeks ago & by the numbers it should have been the same as the rear but it was like 1.25" higher, now it's settled down to measure the same as the rear.

Yeah I have always had billies set at .85. Just added spindles and new billies. Hopefully they settle. 28 in front and 26.5 is a little too bro for me
